“ But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table. They stood by me when I fled from your brother Absalom.

大闢曰、毋畏、我緣爾父約拿單之故、施恩於爾、以祖掃羅之產業、復賜於爾、使爾恆偕我食。

大闢既至馬哈念、亞捫族、喇巴邑人、拿轄子說比、與羅底巴人、亞米利子馬吉、暨基列之羅結林人、巴西來咸至、俱攜床笫、杯棬、瓦缶、小麥、麰麥、細麵、烘穀、豆之巨細與烘者、蜜酥與羊、牛酪之餅、以供大闢、及其僕從、蓋曰、民在曠野饑渴困憊。

爾與爾子爾僕、必耕其田、斂其所產、使爾主之孫有糧可食、爾主之孫米非波設必恆偕我宴飲。西巴有子十五人、僕眾二十人。

或告大闢曰、以色列族之心咸歸押沙龍。大闢諭在耶路撒冷從己之臣僕曰、盍起而遁、否則不得避押沙龍、迅速往哉、恐其倏至、加害於我、刃殲邑民。臣僕曰、我主我王所諭、臣咸願行。

我於戶外叩門、有聞我聲而闢之者、吾將入室、偕彼飲食、如有勝敵者、必賜之與我同坐於位、如我勝敵、與父同坐於位焉、

父之良朋、己之密友、爾與之善、相愛靡已、則遘難之時、毋庸詣兄弟之室、蓋兄弟遠離、不如鄰里在側。

基烈人巴西來、自囉其林而至、偕王濟約但、以送王行。巴西來老邁、年已八十、其家巨富、王在馬哈念時、以所需供王。王謂巴西來曰、與我偕往、我在耶路撒冷、以養贍爾。巴西來曰、我之生存、要無幾年、我偕王往耶路撒冷、果何為乎。我今年八十、所食所飲、不知其味、不別美惡、謳歌之男女、不能分其聲、臣與王偕、適以阻王而已。第容臣濟約但、送王於咫尺之地、何必賞賚若是之厚乎。容臣旋歸、死於故邑、葬於父母墓側、爾之臣僕金罕、可與王偕、任意以行可也。王曰、金罕可與我偕、我必待之任爾所欲。爾尚有所求、我必相從。僕眾濟約但、王既濟河、與巴西來接吻、為之祝嘏、巴西來歸。王至吉甲、金罕偕行、猶大眾人、及以色列族之半送王。○

主至、見僕儆醒、其僕福矣、我誠告爾、主必自束其帶、使僕席坐、前而供事之、

爾曹恆偕我於患難中、我以國封爾、如我父封我、俾爾在我國、飲食於我席、居位審以色列十二支派焉、

我祖全家、當殞沒於我主我王前、乃爾待臣僕、視若上賓、我尚有何詞、赴愬於王。
