The king also said to Shimei,“ You know in your heart all the wrong you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing.

The king continued,“ You know all the wrong things you did to my father David. In your heart you know them. Now the Lord will pay you back for what you did.

The king also said to Shimei,“ You know in your own heart all the harm that you did to David my father. So the Lord will bring back your harm on your own head.

The king also said to Shimei,“ You certainly remember all the wicked things you did to my father, David. May the Lord now bring that evil on your own head.

The king also said,“ You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the LORD has brought back your evil on your head,

The king also said to Shimei,“ You yourself know all the evil that you acknowledge in your heart, which you did to my father David; therefore the Lord will return your evil on your own head.

The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thy heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore Jehovah shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head.

The king also said,“ You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the Lord has brought back your evil on your head,

Then the king said to Shimei,“ You are well aware of the way you mistreated my father David. The LORD will punish you for what you did.

Now when King David came to Bahurim, there was a man from the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei the son of Gera, coming from there. He came out, cursing continuously as he came.And he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David. And all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.Also Shimei said thus when he cursed:“ Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue!The Lord has brought upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned; and the Lord has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son. So now you are caught in your own evil, because you are a bloodthirsty man!”Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king,“ Why should this dead dog curse my Lord the king? Please, let me go over and take off his head!”But the king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him,‘ Curse David.’ Who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”And David said to Abishai and all his servants,“ See how my son who came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now may this Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the Lord has ordered him.It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.”And as David and his men went along the road, Shimei went along the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went, threw stones at him and kicked up dust.

His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.

So when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said,“ Blessed be the Lord, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept His servant from evil! For the Lord has returned the wickedness of Nabal on his own head.” And David sent and proposed to Abigail, to take her as his wife.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ As I live, surely My oath which he despised, and My covenant which he broke, I will recompense on his own head.

So the Lord will return his blood on his head, because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword— Abner the son of Ner, the commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, the commander of the army of Judah— though my father David did not know it.Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab and upon the head of his descendants forever. But upon David and his descendants, upon his house and his throne, there shall be peace forever from the Lord.”

Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

And it shall be: like people, like priest. So I will punish them for their ways, And reward them for their deeds.

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
