The king then told Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your property in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign LORD before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突的老家去吧。你本是该死的，但我念你在我父大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，曾经与我父亲患难与共，才饶你一命。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突自己的田地去吧！你本来是该死的，但我今天不杀死你，因为你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难。”

王對祭司亞比亞他說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前擡過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不將你殺死。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突的老家去吧。你本是該死的，但我念你在我父大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，曾經與我父親患難與共，才饒你一命。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：“你回亞拿突自己的田地去吧！你本來是該死的，但我今天不殺死你，因為你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難。”

王也對祭司亞比亞他說：『你往亞拿突、到你自己的田地去吧；你本是該死的人。但今天我不將你殺死，因為你在我父親大衛面前帶過神諭像，又在我父親所受的一切苦難中同受過苦難。』

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、歸亞拿突、返爾田畝、爾原當死、惟爾在我父大衛前、舁主耶和華之匱、又與我父共苦、此時我不殺爾、

王告祭司亞庇亞塔曰、昔爾舁耶和華上帝之匱、在我父大闢前、恆與我父同憂、今雖當死、我不於此時殺爾、盍歸故土亞拿突。

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、爾可往亞拿突歸爾田、爾罪當死、因爾昔舁主天主之匱在我父大衛前、恆與我父同受苦難、故我今日不殺爾、

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not put you to death now, because you carried the ark of the Sovereign Lord before my father David and shared all my father’s hardships.”

The king spoke to Abiathar the priest. He said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You should really be put to death. But I won’t have it done now. That’s because you carried the ark of the Lord and King. You did it for my father David. You shared all of his hard times.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because you shared in all my father’s affliction.”

Then the king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your home in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not kill you now, because you carried the Ark of the Sovereign Lord for David my father and you shared all his hardships.”

The king said to the priest Abiathar,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord GOD in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

Then to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord Jehovah before David my father, and because thou wast afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

The king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord God in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou[ art] worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields; for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord Yahweh’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”

Anathoth, and Almon, along with the grazing areas of each– a total of four cities.

But one of the sons of Ahimelech son of Ahitub escaped and fled to David. His name was Abiathar.Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD.Then David said to Abiathar,“ I knew that day when Doeg the Edomite was there that he would certainly tell Saul! I am guilty of all the deaths in your father’s house!Stay with me. Don’t be afraid! Whoever seeks my life is seeking your life as well. You are secure with me.”

And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.”

The following is a record of what Jeremiah son of Hilkiah prophesied. He was one of the priests who lived at Anathoth in the territory of the tribe of Benjamin.

Zadok and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. When they positioned the ark of God, Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.Then the king said to Zadok,“ Take the ark of God back to the city. If I find favor in the LORD’s sight he will bring me back and enable me to see both it and his dwelling place again.However, if he should say,‘ I do not take pleasure in you,’ then he will deal with me in a way that he considers appropriate.”The king said to Zadok the priest,“ Are you a seer? Go back to the city in peace! Your son Ahimaaz and Abiathar’s son Jonathan may go with you and Abiathar.Look, I will be waiting at the fords of the desert until word from you reaches me.”So Zadok and Abiathar took the ark of God back to Jerusalem and remained there.

This failure on your part isn’t good! As surely as the LORD lives, you people who have not protected your lord, the LORD’s chosen one, are as good as dead! Now look where the king’s spear and the jug of water that was by his head are!”

Shout out, daughter of Gallim! Pay attention, Laishah! Answer her, Anathoth!

David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, along with the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.He told them:“ You are the leaders of the Levites’ families. You and your relatives must consecrate yourselves and bring the ark of the LORD God of Israel up to the place I have prepared for it.

He collaborated with Joab son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they supported him.

“ You are the ones who have remained with me in my trials.

For today he has gone down and sacrificed many cattle, steers, and sheep and has invited all the king’s sons, the army commanders, and Abiathar the priest. At this moment they are having a feast in his presence, and they have declared,‘ Long live King Adonijah!’

Have you suffered so many things for nothing?– if indeed it was for nothing.

Then David became very angry at this man. He said to Nathan,“ As surely as the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die!

Now when Abiathar son of Ahimelech had fled to David at Keilah, he had brought with him an ephod.When Saul was told that David had come to Keilah, Saul said,“ God has delivered him into my hand, for he has boxed himself into a corner by entering a city with two barred gates.”So Saul mustered all his army to go down to Keilah and besiege David and his men.When David realized that Saul was planning to harm him, he told Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod!”

The king appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada to take his place at the head of the army, and the king appointed Zadok the priest to take Abiathar’s place.
