Then to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted.”

王对祭司亚比亚他说：“你回亚拿突归自己的田地去吧！你本是该死的，但因你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难，所以我今日不将你杀死。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突归自己的田地去吧！你本是该死的，但因你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难，所以我今日不杀死你。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突归自己的田地去吧！你本是该死的，但因你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难，所以我今日不杀死你。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突的老家去吧。你本是该死的，但我念你在我父大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，曾经与我父亲患难与共，才饶你一命。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突自己的田地去吧！你本来是该死的，但我今天不杀死你，因为你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难。”

王對祭司亞比亞他說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前擡過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不將你殺死。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突的老家去吧。你本是該死的，但我念你在我父大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，曾經與我父親患難與共，才饒你一命。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：“你回亞拿突自己的田地去吧！你本來是該死的，但我今天不殺死你，因為你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難。”

王也對祭司亞比亞他說：『你往亞拿突、到你自己的田地去吧；你本是該死的人。但今天我不將你殺死，因為你在我父親大衛面前帶過神諭像，又在我父親所受的一切苦難中同受過苦難。』

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、歸亞拿突、返爾田畝、爾原當死、惟爾在我父大衛前、舁主耶和華之匱、又與我父共苦、此時我不殺爾、

王告祭司亞庇亞塔曰、昔爾舁耶和華上帝之匱、在我父大闢前、恆與我父同憂、今雖當死、我不於此時殺爾、盍歸故土亞拿突。

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、爾可往亞拿突歸爾田、爾罪當死、因爾昔舁主天主之匱在我父大衛前、恆與我父同受苦難、故我今日不殺爾、

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not put you to death now, because you carried the ark of the Sovereign Lord before my father David and shared all my father’s hardships.”

The king spoke to Abiathar the priest. He said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You should really be put to death. But I won’t have it done now. That’s because you carried the ark of the Lord and King. You did it for my father David. You shared all of his hard times.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because you shared in all my father’s affliction.”

Then the king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your home in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not kill you now, because you carried the Ark of the Sovereign Lord for David my father and you shared all his hardships.”

The king said to the priest Abiathar,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord GOD in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord Jehovah before David my father, and because thou wast afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

The king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord God in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou[ art] worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

The king then told Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your property in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign LORD before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.”

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields; for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord Yahweh’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”

Anathoth with its pasture lands, and Almon with its pasture lands; four cities.

But one son of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled to David.Abiathar informed David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.Then David said to Abiathar,“ I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would certainly tell Saul. I myself have turned against every person in your father’s household.Stay with me; do not be afraid, even though he who is seeking my life is seeking your life. For you are safe with me.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

Now behold, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, carrying the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God, and Abiathar came up until all the people had finished crossing over from the city.And the king said to Zadok,“ Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the sight of the Lord, then He will bring me back and show me both it and His habitation.But if He says this:‘ I have no delight in you,’ then here I am, let Him do to me as seems good to Him.”The king also said to Zadok the priest,“ Are you not a seer? Return to the city in peace, and your two sons with you, your son Ahimaaz and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.See, I am going to wait at the river crossing places of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”So Zadok and Abiathar returned the ark of God to Jerusalem and remained there.

This thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, all of you undoubtedly must die, because you did not guard your lord, the Lord’s anointed. And now, see where the king’s spear is and the jug of water that was at his head!”

Cry aloud with your voice, daughter of Gallim! Pay attention, Laishah and wretched Anathoth!

Then David called for the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab;and he said to them,“ You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites; consecrate yourselves, you and your relatives, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place that I have prepared for it.

Now he had conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest; and they allied themselves with Adonijah.

“ You are the ones who have stood by Me in My trials;

For he has gone down today and has sacrificed oxen and fattened steers and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king’s sons, the commanders of the army, and Abiathar the priest, and behold, they are eating and drinking in his presence; and they say,‘ Long live King Adonijah!’

Did you suffer so many things in vain— if indeed it was in vain?

Then David’s anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan,“ As the Lord lives, the man who has done this certainly deserves to die!

Now it came about, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.When it was reported to Saul that David had come to Keilah, Saul said,“ God has handed him over to me, for he shut himself in by entering a city with double gates and bars.”So Saul summoned all the people for war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.But David knew that Saul was plotting evil against him; so he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod here.”

And the king appointed Benaiah the son of Jehoiada over the army in his place, and the king appointed Zadok the priest in place of Abiathar.
