日出的时候，神又安排炎热的东风。烈日晒在约拿的头上，以致发昏，他就为自己求死，说：“我死了比活着还好。”

去追赶神人，遇见他正坐在橡树底下，就问他：“你是从犹大来的神人吗？”他回答：“是的！”

皮袋里的水用尽了，夏甲就把孩子撇在一棵小树底下。然后自己走开，在离开约有一箭之远的地方，相对而坐，说：“我不忍眼看孩子死去。”就相对坐着，放声大哭。

为什么有光明赐给劳碌的人，有生命赐给苦命的人呢？他们想死却死不了，找死胜于找宝藏；他们找到坟墓就高兴，非常欢喜快乐。

你比挪亚们还强吗？挪亚们位于尼罗河流域，周围有水环绕；海是她的屏障，水作她的墙垣。

你们看天空的飞鸟：它们不撒种，不收割，也不收进仓里，你们的天父尚且养活它们；难道你们不比它们更宝贵吗？
