因此他給那地方起名叫別是巴，因為他們二人起了誓就在那裏。

彼得在眾人面前卻否認說：『你說甚麼，我不知道啊。』他出去到了門廊，另有一個女的看見他、就對那裏的人說，『這個人、素來也是同拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。』彼得又否認，並帶着起誓說：『我不認識那個人。』過了一會兒，旁邊站着的人上前來，對彼得說：『真實地、你也是他們中間的人；因為你的口音把你顯得明明白白了。』這時彼得就極力咒詛自己並且起誓說：『我不認識那個人。』立刻地雞就叫了。

亞瑪謝又對阿摩司說：『見異象的人哪、走吧，逃往猶大地去吧！在那裏找口飯喫，在那裏傳神言吧！在伯特利嘛，可別再傳神言了；因為這裏有王的聖所，這裏有王國的宮殿。』

法老聽見這事，就想法子要殺摩西；摩西便逃避法老，去住米甸地。有一天他在井旁坐着。
