When Elijah heard it, he pulled his coat over his face. He went out and stood at the entrance to the cave. Then a voice said to him,“ Elijah, what are you doing here?”

When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

When Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his robe and went out and stood at the entrance to the cave. All of a sudden a voice asked him,“ Why are you here, Elijah?”

When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

There he went into a cave and spent the night. A message came to Elijah from the Lord. He said,“ Elijah, what are you doing here?”

Above him were seraphs. Each of them had six wings. With two wings they covered their faces. With two wings they covered their feet. And with two wings they were flying.

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?”“ Yes, Lord,” he answered.“ You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”Again Jesus asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He answered,“ Yes, Lord. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Take care of my sheep.”Jesus spoke to him a third time. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt bad because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He answered,“ Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.

So Ahab went off to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel. He bent down toward the ground. Then he put his face between his knees.

“ How terrible it is for me!” I cried out.“ I’m about to be destroyed! My mouth speaks sinful words. And I live among people who speak sinful words. Now I have seen the King with my own eyes. He is the Lord who rules over all.”

“ Do not come any closer,” God said.“ Take off your sandals. The place you are standing on is holy ground.”He continued,“ I am the God of your father. I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard that, he turned his face away. He was afraid to look at God.

The angel said,“ Hagar, you are Sarai’s slave. Where have you come from? Where are you going?”“ I’m running away from my owner Sarai,” she answered.

Then I will remove my hand. You will see my back. But my face must not be seen.”
