At noon Elijah began to taunt them.“ Shout louder!” he said.“ Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

At noon Elijah began to tease them.“ Shout louder!” he said.“ I’m sure Baal is a god! Perhaps he has too much to think about. Or maybe he has gone to the toilet. Or perhaps he’s away on a trip. Maybe he’s sleeping. You might have to wake him up.”

And at noon Elijah mocked them, saying,“ Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.”

About noontime Elijah began mocking them.“ You’ll have to shout louder,” he scoffed,“ for surely he is a god! Perhaps he is daydreaming, or is relieving himself. Or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”

At noon Elijah mocked them. He said,“ Shout loudly, for he’s a god! Maybe he’s thinking it over; maybe he has wandered away; or maybe he’s on the road. Perhaps he’s sleeping and will wake up!”

And at noon Elijah ridiculed them and said,“ Call out with a loud voice, since he is a god; undoubtedly he is attending to business, or is on the way, or is on a journey. Perhaps he is asleep, and will awaken.”

And so it was, at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said,“ Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud; for he is a god: either he is musing, or he is gone aside, or he is on a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth and must be awaked.

主啊，奮發哦！為甚麼儘睡呢？醒起哦！不要永久屏棄呀！

看哪，保護以色列的不打盹，也不睡覺。

那時我主正如睡醒，如勇士因喝酒而呼喊。他擊退了他的敵人，使他們永蒙羞辱。

把此後要來的事說明說明！好叫我們知道你們是神；啊，降福或降禍吧，使我們彷徨張望，同時又懼怕呀！

萬族之民哪，明白吧，你們終必驚慌；遠地之眾民哪，側耳以聽哦！束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌；束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌。謀畫陰謀吧，終必歸於失敗；一言言定吧，終必不能成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

米該雅來到王面前，王問他說：『米該雅啊，我們到基列的拉末去交戰可以麼？還是要忍着不去呢？』他對王說：『你可以上去，取得勝利；永恆主一定將那地交在王手裏。』

他第三次來，對他們說：『今後你們還睡覺麼？安歇麼？夠了！鐘點到了！看哪，人子被送交在罪人手裏了！

於是來到門徒那裏，對他們說：『今後你們還睡覺麼？安歇麼？看哪，鐘點近了！人子被送交在罪人手裏了！

耶穌竟在船尾上靠着枕頭睡覺呢；門徒就叫醒了他，對他說：『老師，我們喪命，你不在意麼？』耶穌醒起來，斥責那風，向海說：『不要作聲！噤默罷！』那風不狂吹，便大大平靜了。

這樹人可用作燃料，可以拿些來烤火取暖，也可以燒着烤餅，竟可以造神像去敬拜，作雕像去叩拜！他把木頭的一半燒在火中，在另一半上去燒肉喫；他烤所烤的肉，喫得飽飫，並且烤火取暖，說：『啊哈，我暖和了，我見燄火了。』其剩下的他竟作了一座神像，就是雕像，而向它叩拜，向它敬拜，禱告說：『援救我吧，因為你是我的神！』

『至於你們呢、以色列家啊，主永恆主這麼說，你們只管去、各人服事他的偶像吧！以後呢、你們若不聽從我，也隨你們的便！只是我的聖名、你們卻不可再用你們的供品和偶像來褻瀆啊！

但你如果想要這樣加強自己以爭戰，上帝總會使你顛躓在敵人面前的；因為上帝有能力幫助人，也有能力使人顛躓。』

他又對他們說：『你們很聰明地廢棄了上帝的誡命，為要遵守自己的傳統規矩！

青年人哪，你在幼年時快樂吧；在青年日子使你的心高興吧；按你的心所願行的而行，按你的眼所愛看的而看吧。不過你要知道、為了這一切、上帝總要使你受審判。

『到伯特利去行悖逆吧！到吉甲去增加反叛吧！早晨獻上你們的祭物！每三日奉上你們的十分之一吧！儘管燻上有酵餅作感謝祭哦！把自願獻的祭宣告而公布吧！因為、以色列人哪、你們所愛行的就只是如此！』主永恆主發神諭說。

永恆主的膀臂啊，奮發，奮發哦！穿上力量為服裝哦！奮發像古時的日子，像往古之年代哦！從前擊傷了拉哈龍，刺透了大海獸的、不是你麼？
