The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

If I go out into the field, then, behold, the slain with the sword! If I enter into the city, then, behold, those who are sick with famine! For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.’”

“ I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass?

Alas for the day! For the day of Yahweh is at hand, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty.Isn’t the food cut off before our eyes; joy and gladness from the house of our God?The seeds rot under their clods. The granaries are laid desolate. The barns are broken down, for the grain has withered.How the animals groan! The herds of livestock are perplexed, because they have no pasture. Yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.Yahweh, I cry to you, For the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.Yes, the animals of the field pant to you, for the water brooks have dried up, And the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

“ Judah mourns, and its gates languish. They sit in black on the ground. The cry of Jerusalem goes up.Their nobles send their little ones to the waters. They come to the cisterns, and find no water. They return with their vessels empty. They are disappointed and confounded, and cover their heads.Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are disappointed. They cover their heads.Yes, the doe in the field also calves and forsakes her young, because there is no grass.The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights. They pant for air like jackals. Their eyes fail, because there is no vegetation.

Against you, and you only, I have sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight, so you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge.

When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight. You shall eat, and not be satisfied.

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said,“ I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”So that with good courage we say,“ The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

Your sky that is over your head will be bronze, and the earth that is under you will be iron.Yahweh will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed.
