掃羅對僕人說：「看哪，我們若去，送甚麼給那人呢？我們袋子裏的食物都吃完了，也沒有禮物可以送給神人，我們還有些甚麼呢？」僕人又回答掃羅說：「看哪，我手裏還有四分之一舍客勒的銀子，可以送給神人，請他指示我們當走的路。」

有一個人從巴力‧沙利沙來，帶着初熟果子的食物、二十個大麥做的餅和新麥穗，裝在袋子裏送給神人。神人說：「把這些給大家吃。」

王對神人說：「請你跟我回宮，讓你恢復心力，我必給你賞賜。」

以利沙來到大馬士革，亞蘭王便‧哈達正患病。有人告訴王說：「神人來到這裏了。」王就吩咐哈薛說：「你帶着禮物去見神人，託他求問耶和華，我這病能不能好？」於是哈薛用四十匹駱駝，馱着大馬士革的各樣美物為禮物，去迎見以利沙。哈薛到了那裏，站在他面前，說：「你兒子亞蘭王便‧哈達派我到你這裏，問說：『我這病會不會好？』」

乃縵帶着所有跟隨他的人，回到神人那裏，站在他面前，說：「看哪，我知道，除了以色列，全地沒有上帝。現在請你收下僕人的禮物。」

他聽見耶穌從猶太到了加利利，就來見他，求他下去醫治他的兒子，因為他兒子快要死了。耶穌對他說：「若不看見神蹟奇事，你們總是不信。」

亞哈謝在撒瑪利亞，一日從樓上的欄杆跌下來，就病了。於是他派使者，對他們說：「你們去問以革倫的神明巴力‧西卜，我這病是否能痊癒。」

亞蘭王說：「你可以去，我也會送信給以色列王。」於是乃縵手裏帶十他連得銀子、六千舍客勒金子和十套衣裳去了。

有一個百夫長所器重的僕人害病，快要死了。百夫長風聞耶穌的事，就託猶太人的幾個長老去求耶穌來救他的僕人。

姊妹兩個就打發人去見耶穌，說：「主啊，你所愛的人病了。」
