『因為猶大王瑪拿西行這些可厭惡的事、比他以前的亞摩利人一切所行的更壞，並且用他的偶像使猶大人犯了罪；

而永恆主在怒氣烈怒中、在大震怒中、就把他們從他們的土地上拔出來，給丟在別的地上、像今日一樣。」

以色列人又行了永恆主所看為壞的事，永恆主就使摩押王伊磯倫強盛，來攻擊以色列人，因為以色列人行了永恆主所看為壞的事。

羅波安行了壞事，因為他不立定心意尋求永恆主。

你不是只按他們所行的而行，不是只照他們可厭惡之事去作；你乃是以那為小可；故此你一切所行的居然比她們更腐壞。主永恆主發神諭說：我指着永活的我來起誓，你妹妹所多瑪、她和她的兒女們、尚且沒有行過你和你的兒女們所行過的事呢。
