For I was commanded by the word of the Lord:‘ You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’”

The Lord gave me a command. He said,‘ Do not eat bread or drink water there. Do not return the same way you came.’ ”

For the Lord gave me this command:‘ You must not eat or drink anything while you are there, and do not return to Judah by the same way you came.’”

It shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again.None of the devoted things shall stick to your hand, that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he swore to your fathers,if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, keeping all his commandments that I am commanding you today, and doing what is right in the sight of the Lord your God.

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.

And he cried to the man of God who came from Judah,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord and have not kept the command that the Lord your God commanded you,but have come back and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to you,“ Eat no bread and drink no water,” your body shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’”

And behold, a man of God came out of Judah by the word of the Lord to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to make offerings.

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,“ Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler— not even to eat with such a one.

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
