有一個人，名叫亞拿尼亞，同他的妻子撒非喇，賣了田產，把錢私自留下一部分，他的妻子也知道，其餘的部分拿來放在使徒腳前。彼得說：「亞拿尼亞！為甚麼撒但充滿了你的心，使你欺騙聖靈，把賣田地的錢私自留下一部分呢？田地還沒有賣，不是你自己的嗎？既賣了，錢不是你作主嗎？你怎麼心裏會想這樣做呢？你不是欺騙人，是欺騙神！」亞拿尼亞一聽見這些話，就仆倒，斷了氣；所有聽見的人都非常懼怕。有些年輕人起來，把他裹好，抬出去埋葬了。約過了三小時，他的妻子進來，還不知道所發生的事。彼得對她說：「你告訴我，你們賣田地的錢就是這些嗎？」她說：「就是這些。」彼得對她說：「你們為甚麼同謀來試探主的靈呢？你看，埋葬你丈夫之人的腳已到門口，他們也要把你抬出去。」她立刻仆倒在彼得腳前，斷了氣。那些年輕人進來，見她已經死了，就把她抬出去，埋在她丈夫旁邊。

所以耶和華如此說：看哪，我要把你從地面上除掉，你今年必死，因為你向耶和華說了叛逆的話。」這樣，哈拿尼雅先知當年七月間就死了。

耶和華吩咐摩西說：「你吩咐會眾說：『你們遠離可拉、大坍和亞比蘭帳棚的周圍。』」摩西起來，到大坍、亞比蘭那裏去；以色列的長老也都跟着他去。他吩咐會眾說：「你們離開這些惡人的帳棚吧！不可碰他們的任何東西，免得你們因他們一切的罪而消滅。」於是會眾遠離了可拉、大坍和亞比蘭的帳棚。大坍和亞比蘭帶着妻子、兒女和小孩子出來，站在自己的帳棚門口。摩西說：「因這件事，你們就必知道這一切事是耶和華差派我做的，並非出於我的心意。這些人的死若和世人無異，或者他們所遭遇的和其他人相同，那麼耶和華就不曾差派我了。但是，倘若耶和華創作一件新事，使地開了裂口，把他們和一切屬他們的都吞下去，叫他們活活墜落陰間，你們就知道是這些人藐視了耶和華。」摩西剛說完這些話，他們腳下的地就裂開，地開了裂口，把他們和他們的家眷，以及一切屬可拉的人和財物，都吞了下去。他們和一切屬他們的，都活活墜落陰間；地在他們上面又合攏起來，他們就從會眾中滅亡了。在他們四圍的以色列眾人聽見他們的叫聲，就都逃跑，說：「恐怕地也要把我們吞下去了！」有火從耶和華那裏出來，吞滅了那上香的二百五十人。

米該雅說：「你若真的能平安回來，那就是耶和華沒有藉我說這話了。」他又說：「眾百姓啊，你們都要聽！」

看哪，明天大約這時候，我必使大量的冰雹降下，這是從埃及立國直到如今沒有出現過的。現在，你要派人把你的牲畜和你田間一切所有的帶去躲避；任何在田間，無論是人是牲畜沒有回到屋內的，冰雹必降在他們身上，他們就必死。』」法老的臣僕中，懼怕耶和華這話的，就讓他的奴僕和牲畜逃進屋裏。但那不把耶和華這話放在心上的，就把他的奴僕和牲畜留在田裏。耶和華對摩西說：「你向天伸出你的手，使冰雹降在埃及全地，降在埃及地的人和牲畜身上，以及田間各樣菜蔬上。」摩西向天伸杖，耶和華就打雷下雹，有火降到地上；耶和華下雹在埃及地上。那時，有雹，也有火在雹中閃爍，極其嚴重；自從埃及立國以來，全地沒有像這樣的。在埃及全地，冰雹擊打田間所有的人和牲畜，擊打一切的菜蔬，也打壞了田間一切的樹木。
