So it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who cried out against the altar in Bethel, that he stretched out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Arrest him!” Then his hand, which he stretched out toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself.

When King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against the altar at Bethel, he stretched out his hand from the altar and said,“ Seize him!” But the hand he stretched out toward the man shriveled up, so that he could not pull it back.

The man of God announced that message against the altar at Bethel. When King Jeroboam heard it, he reached out his hand from the altar. He said,“ Grab him!” But as he reached out his hand toward the man, it dried up. He couldn’t even pull it back.

And when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Seize him.” And his hand, which he stretched out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.

When King Jeroboam heard the man of God speaking against the altar at Bethel, he pointed at him and shouted,“ Seize that man!” But instantly the king’s hand became paralyzed in that position, and he couldn’t pull it back.

When the king heard the message that the man of God had cried out against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar and said,“ Arrest him!” But the hand he stretched out against him withered, and he could not pull it back to himself.

Now when the king heard the statement of the man of God which he cried out against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Seize him!” But his hand which he had stretched out toward him dried up, and he could not draw it back to himself.

And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth- el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.

When the king heard the word that the man of God had cried out against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar and said,“ Arrest him!” But the hand he stretched out against him withered, and he could not pull it back to himself.

And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.

When the king heard what the prophet cried out against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam, standing at the altar, extended his hand and ordered,“ Seize him!” The hand he had extended shriveled up and he could not pull it back.

When the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Seize him!” His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.

Therefore the anger of the Lord was aroused against Amaziah, and He sent him a prophet who said to him,“ Why have you sought the gods of the people, which could not rescue their own people from your hand?”So it was, as he talked with him, that the king said to him,“ Have we made you the king’s counselor? Cease! Why should you be killed?” Then the prophet ceased, and said,“ I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not heeded my advice.”

Now it happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying,“ You will surely die!Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying,‘ This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without an inhabitant’?” And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord and sat down in the entry of the New Gate of the LORD’s house.And the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes and all the people, saying,“ This man deserves to die! For he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.”

Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him because of this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at that time.

Now when He said to them,“ I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying,“ Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely.”As soon as He had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him,“ Rabbi, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him.

Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.And it happened on the next day that Pashhur brought Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him,“ The Lord has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-Missabib.For thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon and slay them with the sword.Moreover I will deliver all the wealth of this city, all its produce, and all its precious things; all the treasures of the kings of Judah I will give into the hand of their enemies, who will plunder them, seize them, and carry them to Babylon.And you, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house, shall go into captivity. You shall go to Babylon, and there you shall die, and be buried there, you and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied lies.’”

And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.

Saying,“ Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”

But Elymas the sorcerer( for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at himand said,“ O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

Then the king of Israel said,“ Take Micaiah, and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son;and say,‘ Thus says the king:“ Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Take heed, all you people!”

Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”And he said,“ Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said,“ I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

But Herod the tetrarch, being rebuked by him concerning Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,also added this, above all, that he shut John up in prison.

And the King will answer and say to them,‘ Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council.They also set up false witnesses who said,“ This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law;for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

Now there was also a man who prophesied in the name of the Lord, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath Jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid and fled, and went to Egypt.Then Jehoiakim the king sent men to Egypt: Elnathan the son of Achbor, and other men who went with him to Egypt.And they brought Urijah from Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

Therefore the princes said to the king,“ Please, let this man be put to death, for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the welfare of this people, but their harm.”Then Zedekiah the king said,“ Look, he is in your hand. For the king can do nothing against you.”So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the king’s son, which was in the court of the prison, and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire. So Jeremiah sank in the mire.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.For thus Amos has said:‘ Jeroboam shall die by the sword, And Israel shall surely be led away captive From their own land.’”Then Amaziah said to Amos:“ Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, And there prophesy.But never again prophesy at Bethel, For it is the king’s sanctuary, And it is the royal residence.”Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah:“ I was no prophet, Nor was I a son of a prophet, But I was a sheepbreeder And a tender of sycamore fruit.Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, And the Lord said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’Now therefore, hear the word of the Lord: You say,‘ Do not prophesy against Israel, And do not spout against the house of Isaac.’“ Therefore thus says the Lord:‘ Your wife shall be a harlot in the city; Your sons and daughters shall fall by the sword; Your land shall be divided by survey line; You shall die in a defiled land; And Israel shall surely be led away captive From his own land.’”

And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said,“ Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.Now Elisha said to them,“ This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria.So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said,“ Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria!
