因為他撕裂了以色列離開猶大家；他們卻立了尼八的兒子耶羅波安作王。耶羅波安勾引了以色列人、使他們不隨從永恆主、而使他們犯了大罪。

耶羅波安心裏說：『現在恐怕這國仍回歸大衛家。

但是耶戶對永恆主以色列上帝的律法並不盡心謹慎遵行，不離開耶羅波安的罪、耶羅波安使以色列人犯的那罪。

所行純正的、有公義守護着；犯罪的人被邪惡所傾覆。
