Even after this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people. Anyone who wanted to become a priest he consecrated for the high places.

耶羅波安為邱壇、公山羊神，以及他鑄造的牛犢，自己設立了祭司。

你們不是驅逐了耶和華的祭司，亞倫的子孫和利未人嗎？你們不是像世上萬民為自己立祭司嗎？無論甚麼人牽來一頭公牛犢和七隻公綿羊，自己授聖職，就可以作那本不是神的祭司。

但惡人和騙子必越來越壞，他們欺騙人，也必受欺騙。

帳幕要起行的時候，利未人要把它拆卸下來；帳幕要支搭的時候，利未人要把它豎立起來；如果有外人走近，必須處死。

神擊殺他們的時候，他們就尋求他；他們回轉過來，切切求問神。

耶羅波安在邱壇那裡建殿，把不是利未子孫的平民立為祭司。耶羅波安又定了八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣，他自己在祭壇上獻祭，他在伯特利也是這樣向他所鑄造的牛犢獻祭；他又在伯特利為他所建造的邱壇設立祭司。八月十五日，就是他心裡私定作為以色列人節期的日子，他在伯特利在自己所建的祭壇上獻祭燒香。

米迦立了這利未青年作他的祭司，住在米迦的家裡。

以色列人對摩西說：“我們要死了，我們滅亡了，我們都滅亡了。走近耶和華帳幕的，都必定死；難道我們都要死嗎？”

你要把這些給你哥哥亞倫和他的兒子們穿上，又要膏抹他們，按立他們，把他們分別為聖，好使他們可以作我的祭司。

看哪！耶和華下令，大樓就粉碎，小屋也要破裂。

我揀選的那人，他的杖必發芽；這樣，我就必使以色列人向你們所發的怨言止息，不再達到我耳中。”

你要委派亞倫和他的兒子，使他們謹守自己祭司的職分；外人走近，必被治死。”

陶匠用他手中的泥所做的器皿壞了，他就用這泥再做別的器皿，照著自己的意思去作。
