耶和華對所羅門說：“你既然作了這事，不遵守我吩咐你的約和律例，我必奪去你的國，把國賜給你的一個臣子。

所以耶和华对他说：“你既行了这事，不遵守我所吩咐你守的约和律例，我必将你的国夺回，赐给你的臣子。

所以耶和华对他说：“你既然是这样，不遵守我所吩咐你守的约和律例，我必定把国度撕裂离开你，将它赐给你的大臣。

所以耶和华对他说：“你既然是这样，不遵守我所吩咐你守的约和律例，我必定把国度撕裂离开你，将它赐给你的大臣。

说：“你既然违背我的命令，不遵守我的约和律例，我必夺走你的国，将它赐给你的一个臣仆。

耶和华对所罗门说：“你既然作了这事，不遵守我吩咐你的约和律例，我必夺去你的国，把国赐给你的一个臣子。

說：「你既然違背我的命令，不遵守我的約和律例，我必奪走你的國，將它賜給你的一個臣僕。

故此永恆主對他說：『你既以這事為念，不遵守我的約和律例、就是我所吩咐你守的，那麼我就一定從你手裏撕裂你的國、而賜給你的臣僕。

故耶和華諭之曰、爾既行是、不守我約、及我命爾之典章、我必奪爾國祚、以予爾僕、

故復諭之曰、因爾行是、不守我約、及我所諭之禮儀、我必奪爾國祚、以予爾僕。

故主諭所羅門曰、爾既行是、不守我所命爾之約、及我之律例、我必奪爾國以賜爾僕、

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ You have chosen not to keep my covenant. You have decided not to obey my rules. I commanded you to do what I told you. But you did not do it. So you can be absolutely sure I will tear the kingdom away from you. I will give it to one of your officials.

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.

So now the Lord said to him,“ Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.

Then the LORD said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this and did not keep my covenant and my statutes, which I commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will certainly tear the kingdom away from you, and will give it to your servant.

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon,“ Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Wherefore Jehovah said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

Then the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this and did not keep My covenant and My statutes, which I commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

So the LORD said to Solomon,“ Because you insist on doing these things and have not kept the covenantal rules I gave you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon,“ Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.

王不肯聽從民眾的請求，因為這個轉變是出於耶和華，為要應驗他藉示羅人亞希雅對尼八的兒子耶羅波安所說的話。以色列眾人見王不肯聽從他們的請求，就回答王說：“我們在大衛裡面有甚麼分呢？我們在耶西的兒子裡面也沒有產業；以色列人哪，回你們自己的家去吧！大衛啊，照顧你自己的家吧！”於是以色列人都回自己的家去了。

對耶羅波安說：“你拿十片去吧！因為耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘看哪，我必從所羅門的手裡把國奪去，把十個支派賜給你。

以色列眾人聽說耶羅波安回來了，就派人去請他到會眾面前，立他作以色列的王；除了猶大支派以外，沒有跟隨大衛家的。

因此，耶和華以色列的神說：‘我曾說：你的家和你的父家，必永遠行在我面前。’現在耶和華卻說：‘我決不容你們這樣行了，因為尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐視我的，必受到輕視。日子快到了，我要砍下你和你父親的膀臂，使你家中再沒有有權勢的長者。我賜給以色列人的一切福分，你必像一個對頭，以嫉妒的眼光來看；而在你的家中，必永遠再沒有有權勢的長者。

我耶和華已經說了，我必要這樣對待這聚集反抗我的惡會眾；他們要在這曠野滅盡，在這裡死亡。”

主說：“因為這子民只用言語來親近我，用嘴唇尊崇我，他們的心卻遠離我。他們對我的敬畏，只是遵從傳統的吩咐。因此，看哪！我要再向這子民施行奇事，就是奇妙又奇妙的事；他們智慧人的智慧必要消沒，他們聰明人的聰明必被隱藏。”

因為他自從使以色列從大衛家分裂出來後，他們就立了尼八的兒子耶羅波安作王，耶羅波安卻引誘以色列人不去跟從耶和華，又使他們犯了大罪。

撒母耳回答掃羅：“我不與你一同回去，因為你棄絕了耶和華的話，耶和華也棄絕你作以色列的王。”撒母耳轉身要走，掃羅拉著他外袍的衣邊，衣邊就撕裂了。撒母耳就對他說：“今天耶和華把以色列國從你身上撕裂，賜給比你更好的人。

他們決不得看見我向他們的祖宗起誓應許之地；藐視我的，一個也不能看見那地。

撒母耳對掃羅說：“你作了糊塗事了！你沒有謹守耶和華你的神吩咐你的命令。如果你謹守，耶和華就必在以色列中堅立你的王位，直到永遠。但現在你的王位必不長久，耶和華已經為自己找到一個合他心意的人，立他作自己子民的領袖，因為你沒有謹守耶和華所吩咐你的。”

你為甚麼藐視耶和華的話，行他看為惡的事呢？你用刀擊殺了赫人烏利亞，娶了他的妻子作你的妻子，你藉著亞捫人的刀殺了烏利亞。所以，從今以後，刀劍必不離開你的家，因為你藐視了我，娶了赫人烏利亞的妻子作你的妻子。’耶和華這樣說：‘看哪！我必從你家中興起禍患攻擊你；我要在你的眼前把你的妃嬪拿去賜給你的同伴。他要在光天化日之下與她們同床。你在暗中行了這事，我卻要在所有以色列人面前，在光天化日之下行這事報應你。’”
