故此永恆主對他說：『你既以這事為念，不遵守我的約和律例、就是我所吩咐你守的，那麼我就一定從你手裏撕裂你的國、而賜給你的臣僕。

故耶和華諭之曰、爾既行是、不守我約、及我命爾之典章、我必奪爾國祚、以予爾僕、

故復諭之曰、因爾行是、不守我約、及我所諭之禮儀、我必奪爾國祚、以予爾僕。

故主諭所羅門曰、爾既行是、不守我所命爾之約、及我之律例、我必奪爾國以賜爾僕、

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ You have chosen not to keep my covenant. You have decided not to obey my rules. I commanded you to do what I told you. But you did not do it. So you can be absolutely sure I will tear the kingdom away from you. I will give it to one of your officials.

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.

So now the Lord said to him,“ Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.

Then the LORD said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this and did not keep my covenant and my statutes, which I commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

So the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will certainly tear the kingdom away from you, and will give it to your servant.

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon,“ Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Wherefore Jehovah said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

Then the Lord said to Solomon,“ Since you have done this and did not keep My covenant and My statutes, which I commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

So the LORD said to Solomon,“ Because you insist on doing these things and have not kept the covenantal rules I gave you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon,“ Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.

王不听民众的请求。这事是出于耶和华的旨意，为要应验祂借示罗人亚希雅先知对尼八的儿子耶罗波安说的话。以色列人见王不听他们的请求，就说：“我们与大卫有何相干？我们与耶西的儿子没有关系！以色列人啊，各自回家吧！大卫家啊，自己照顾自己吧！”于是，以色列人各自回家了。

对耶罗波安说：“你可以拿十片。以色列的上帝耶和华说，‘我必夺走所罗门的国，把十个支派赐给你。

以色列人听说耶罗波安回来了，就请他到会众面前，拥立他做以色列人的王。只有犹大支派仍然效忠大卫家。

“所以，以色列的上帝耶和华宣告说，‘我曾经应许让你们家族永远做我的祭司。’但现在耶和华宣布，‘这绝不可能了。尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐视我的，必遭藐视。看啊，时候将到，我要终结你和你家族的力量，你们家族必没有一个老人。你必以羡慕的眼光看着我赐福以色列人，你家中却永远没有一个老人。

我耶和华已经说过。我必使你们这群与我为敌的恶人死在旷野，无一幸免。”

主说：“这些人嘴上亲近我，尊崇我，心却远离我。他们敬拜我不过是遵行人定的规条。所以，我要再次行奇妙无比的事，使他们震惊。他们智者的智慧必泯灭，明哲的聪明必消失。”

祂使以色列从大卫家分裂出来，以色列人便拥立尼八的儿子耶罗波安为王。耶罗波安诱使以色列人远离耶和华，使他们犯了大罪。

但撒母耳说：“我不会跟你回去，你既然拒绝遵行耶和华的命令，祂也拒绝你做以色列的王。”撒母耳转身离去，扫罗就抓住他的衣边，结果衣边被撕下来了。撒母耳对他说：“耶和华今天已经从你身上拿走了以色列国的王位，赐给了一个比你好的人。

撒母耳说：“你真糊涂！你违背了你的上帝耶和华的命令。祂本来要使你的王位在以色列永远坚立，但现在你的王位不能长久了，耶和华已经找到一个合祂心意的人，要立他做百姓的君王。因为你没有遵守耶和华的命令。”

你为什么蔑视我的命令，做出我视为可憎的事呢？你借亚扪人的刀杀了赫人乌利亚，把他的妻子据为己有。因为你藐视我，把赫人乌利亚的妻子据为己有，从今以后，杀戮流血的事必永不离开你的家。’耶和华说，‘我要在你家中降下灾祸，我要当着你的面把你的妻妾交给你的近臣，他必在光天化日之下与她们行淫。你在暗地里做这恶事，我要让这样的恶事当着以色列人的面在光天化日之下临到你。’”
