Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.

He had commanded Solomon not to worship other gods. But Solomon didn’t obey the Lord.

“关于你所建的这殿，若你遵行我的律例，顺从我的典章，谨守我的一切诫命，我必实现我对你父亲大卫的应许。我必住在以色列人当中，不抛弃我的以色列子民。”

如果你像你父亲大卫一样存诚实正直的心事奉我，遵行我的一切吩咐，谨守我的律例和典章，我必使你的王位在以色列永远稳固，正如我曾向你父亲大卫应许要使他的王朝永不中断。“然而，如果你们及你们的子孙离弃我，不守我的诫命和律例，去供奉、祭拜别的神明，我必把以色列人从我赐给他们的土地上铲除，并离弃我为自己的名而使之圣洁的这殿，使以色列人在万民中成为笑柄，被人嘲讽。
