We know that everyone fathered by God does not sin, but God protects the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.

For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.

What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin,just as it is written:“ There is no one righteous, not even one,there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.”“ Their throats are open graves, they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.”“ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”“ Their feet are swift to shed blood,ruin and misery are in their paths,and the way of peace they have not known.”“ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world means hostility toward God? So whoever decides to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy.

( The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God– not by human wisdom but by the grace of God– we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

We know that we have crossed over from death to life because we love our fellow Christians. The one who does not love remains in death.
