The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

The one who obeys God’s commands remains joined to him. And he remains joined to them. Here is how we know that God lives in us. We know it because of the Holy Spirit he gave us.

Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.

豈不知爾乃天主之殿、天主之神居於爾中乎、

從未有人見天主、若我儕相愛、則天主恆居我內、而愛天主之愛、得成全於我心、天主以其神賜我、則我由此而知我恆居天主內、天主恆居我內、

且凡我所求者、必得於彼、因我守其誡、而行其所悅、

使皆為一、父歟、如爾在我內、我在爾內、致彼在父與我父與我原文作我儕內為一、使世信爾遣我、

昔所託於爾之善道、當賴居於我中之聖神守之、○

豈不知爾由天主所受之聖神、居於爾中、而爾身即聖神之殿乎、且爾非屬己、

以贖律法下之人、使我眾得為子、爾既得為子、天主則遣其子之神於爾心、呼阿巴、父也、

若天主之神、居於爾心、則爾不屬肉體而屬聖神矣、凡無基督神者、不屬基督也、若基督在爾心、則身因罪而死、神因義而生、使耶穌由死復活者之神、若居於爾心、則使基督由死復活者、必以居爾心之聖神、使爾將死之身復活、○如是、兄弟乎、我儕非負肉體之債、致我從肉體而行、爾曹若從肉體而行、必死、若以聖神而滅身之邪行、必生、蓋凡為天主之神所導者、是為天主之子、爾曹所受之神、非使爾自視為奴、致仍畏懼、爾曹所受之神、乃使爾自視為子、我儕由之而呼阿巴、父也、此神與我心、或作此神與我神同證我儕為天主之子、既為子則為嗣、即天主之嗣、與基督同為嗣、我儕若與之同苦、亦必與之同榮、○

人若言己恆居主內、則當效主之所行而行、○
