If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

Suppose we say that we share life with God but still walk in the darkness. Then we are lying. We are not living out the truth.

Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?And what agreement does God’s sanctuary have with idols? For we are the sanctuary of the living God, as God said: I will dwell among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?

If we say,“ We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared.

Can a corrupt throne— one that creates trouble by law— become Your ally?

The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now.The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he’s going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
