I do not mean that we have control of your faith, but we are workers with you for your joy, because you stand by faith.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,yet I will triumph in Yahweh; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!

Since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,so that, because of me, your confidence may grow in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.

My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father— Jesus Christ the Righteous One.
