those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

Those who use the things of the world should not become all wrapped up in them. The world as it now exists is passing away.

and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.

Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

and those who use the world as though they did not make full use of it. For this world in its current form is passing away.

and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the present form of this world is passing away.

and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.

Surely every man walketh in a vain show; Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God hath already accepted thy works.Let thy garments be always white; and let not thy head lack oil.Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of thy life of vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all thy days of vanity: for that is thy portion in life, and in thy labor wherein thou laborest under the sun.Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.

whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

I know that there is nothing better for them, than to rejoice, and to do good so long as they live.And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labor, is the gift of God.

What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel.

For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.

And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds.And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin:for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that which thou layedst not down, and reapest that which thou didst not sow.He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that which I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow;then wherefore gavest thou not my money into the bank, and I at my coming should have required it with interest?And he said unto them that stood by, Take away from him the pound, and give it unto him that hath the ten pounds.And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.I say unto you, that unto every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.

Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass; and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.

Behold, that which I have seen to be good and to be comely is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labor, wherein he laboreth under the sun, all the days of his life which God hath given him: for this is his portion.Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor- this is the gift of God.For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

Come now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth- eaten.Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.

But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;and shall begin to beat his fellow- servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,

And he said also unto the disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he was wasting his goods.And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.

As a dream when one awaketh, So, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.

There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it is from the hand of God.For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I?

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
