But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none,

兄弟乎、我姑言之、時日促矣、今而後有妻者當如無妻、

兄弟乎、吾言今而後、窘逼之時也、故有妻者、當如無妻、

兄弟乎、所餘之時無幾、故有妻者當如無妻、

第有一語、不得不為兄弟告者、即人生在世、為日無多；故有妻當若無妻、

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not;

Brothers and sisters, what I mean is that the time is short. From now on, those who have a husband or wife should live as if they did not.

This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,

But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters: The time that remains is very short. So from now on, those with wives should not focus only on their marriage.

This is what I mean, brothers and sisters: The time is limited, so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none;

But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened, that henceforth both those that have wives may be as though they had none;

And I say this, brothers: The time is limited, so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

But this I say, brethren, the time[ is] short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. So then those who have wives should be as those who have none,

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.Instead you ought to say,“ If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.

and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

“ Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. SelahSurely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them.“ And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:In the morning it flourishes and grows up; In the evening it is cut down and withers.For we have been consumed by Your anger, And by Your wrath we are terrified.You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

The voice said,“ Cry out!” And he said,“ What shall I cry?”“ All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass.The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”

because“ All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.“ Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher,“ All is vanity.”

For who knows what is good for man in life, all the days of his vain life which he passes like a shadow? Who can tell a man what will happen after him under the sun?

Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes it waste, Distorts its surface And scatters abroad its inhabitants.And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the debtor.

“ Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble.He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue.

As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more.
