婚姻為聖潔之事、床笫不容沾辱。淫人妻女、必遭天誅。

總之、予欲爾無憂無慮也。無妻者能專心事主、惟求取悅於主；有妻者則注意世故、兼欲取悅於妻、則分心矣。無夫者及處女、亦能專心事主、惟求神形之聖潔，有夫者則注意世故、兼欲取悅於夫矣。吾作是語、為爾之益、不欲納爾於陷穽之中、乃欲導爾於康莊之路；庶得無阻無礙、從容事主耳。倘有閨女、年已及笄、其父斟酌情形、若不速嫁、將貽其羞、則可權宜處置、俾成眷屬、亦不為過。

吾呼天主為證、吾之所以未來格林多者、乃為爾等着想、不欲予爾等以難堪耳。

吾鑒於世難方殷、竊謂能保守獨身、莫善焉。
