When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching

“ If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.

Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes— these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

“ Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people— none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Outside the city are the dogs— the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

“ But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars— their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.

That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

“ A woman must not put on men’s clothing, and a man must not wear women’s clothing. Anyone who does this is detestable in the sight of the Lord your God.

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you— something that even pagans don’t do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother.

Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for“ bad company corrupts good character.”

Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

Those who plant injustice will harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an end.

Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal.

“ Then the King will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.

Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never!And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say,“ The two are united into one.”

They shouted to Lot,“ Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them!”

While they were enjoying themselves, a crowd of troublemakers from the town surrounded the house. They began beating at the door and shouting to the old man,“ Bring out the man who is staying with you so we can have sex with him.”

“ No Israelite, whether man or woman, may become a temple prostitute.

“ Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight, or volume.Your scales and weights must be accurate. Your containers for measuring dry materials or liquids must be accurate. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

“ You must not pass along false rumors. You must not cooperate with evil people by lying on the witness stand.

“ You must use accurate scales when you weigh out merchandise,and you must use full and honest measures.Yes, always use honest weights and measures, so that you may enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.All who cheat with dishonest weights and measures are detestable to the Lord your God.

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters.

What sorrow awaits the unjust judges and those who issue unfair laws.They deprive the poor of justice and deny the rights of the needy among my people. They prey on widows and take advantage of orphans.

Then he said to me,“ This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side of the scroll says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land.

Don’t you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you are going to judge the world, can’t you decide even these little things among yourselves?Don’t you realize that we will judge angels? So you should surely be able to resolve ordinary disputes in this life.

“ Do not twist justice in legal matters by favoring the poor or being partial to the rich and powerful. Always judge people fairly.

And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.

The Lord detests the use of dishonest scales, but he delights in accurate weights.
