Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying,“ Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.

Brothers and sisters, I have used myself and Apollos as examples to help you. You can learn from us the meaning of the saying,“ Don’t go beyond what is written.” Then you won’t be proud that you follow one of us instead of the other.

I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

Dear brothers and sisters, I have used Apollos and myself to illustrate what I’ve been saying. If you pay attention to what I have quoted from the Scriptures, you won’t be proud of one of your leaders at the expense of another.

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying:“ Nothing beyond what is written.” The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favoring one person over another.

I have applied these things to myself and Apollos because of you, brothers and sisters, so that through us you may learn“ not to go beyond what is written,” so that none of you will be puffed up in favor of the one against the other.

Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,

Now I mean this, that each one of you says,“ I follow Paul,”“ I follow Apollos,”“ I follow Cephas,” and,“ I follow Christ.”

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you didn’t receive, or a different“ good news”, which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.

For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

Let no one rob you of your prize by self- abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me or hears from me.

But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from those who desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we.For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.

Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that even as he is Christ’s, so we also are Christ’s.

Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.

For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”

For when one says,“ I follow Paul,” and another,“ I follow Apollos,” aren’t you fleshly?Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed, and each as the Lord gave to him?I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?

not boasting beyond proper limits in other men’s labors, but having hope that as your faith grows, we will be abundantly enlarged by you in our sphere of influence,

Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.

For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing. And I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”

For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.An empty- headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

Yahweh says:“ Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.

You are arrogant, and didn’t mourn instead, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you.

They came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”John answered,“ A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.

Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,

Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?

For I say through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?

that, as it is written,“ He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”

But don’t you be called‘ Rabbi,’ for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ.

Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered,“ My lord Moses, forbid them!”Moses said to him,“ Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh’s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!”
