吾不以私智婉言、惟以聖神之良能傳道、

且我講論宣傳、非以人智之婉言而辯、乃以聖神之大能而證、

蓋予之談吐及論道、非恃人智之巧言妙語、惟恃神力之明徵、

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,

I didn’t preach my message with clever and compelling words. Instead, my preaching showed the Holy Spirit’s power.

and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things which angels desire to look into.

For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words.

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:of sin, because they do not believe in Me;of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.“ I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed.

With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, With her flattering lips she seduced him.

Now Absalom would rise early and stand beside the way to the gate. So it was, whenever anyone who had a lawsuit came to the king for a decision, that Absalom would call to him and say,“ What city are you from?” And he would say,“ Your servant is from such and such a tribe of Israel.”Then Absalom would say to him,“ Look, your case is good and right; but there is no deputy of the king to hear you.”Moreover Absalom would say,“ Oh, that I were made judge in the land, and everyone who has any suit or cause would come to me; then I would give him justice.”And so it was, whenever anyone came near to bow down to him, that he would put out his hand and take him and kiss him.In this manner Absalom acted toward all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

And the Lord said,‘ Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner.Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said,‘ I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him,‘ In what way?’So he said,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said,‘ You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.’

Then Agrippa said to Paul,“ You almost persuade me to become a Christian.”

But it came to pass on the seventh day that they said to Samson’s wife,“ Entice your husband, that he may explain the riddle to us, or else we will burn you and your father’s house with fire. Have you invited us in order to take what is ours? Is that not so?”

He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.

For I heard many mocking:“ Fear on every side!”“ Report,” they say,“ and we will report it!” All my acquaintances watched for my stumbling, saying,“ Perhaps he can be induced; Then we will prevail against him, And we will take our revenge on him.”

“ Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace— and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar—say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down.

And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her,“ Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”

Your maidservant said,‘ The word of my Lord the king will now be comforting; for as the angel of God, so is my Lord the king in discerning good and evil. And may the Lord your God be with you.’”Then the king answered and said to the woman,“ Please do not hide from me anything that I ask you.” And the woman said,“ Please, let my Lord the king speak.”So the king said,“ Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” And the woman answered and said,“ As you live, my Lord the king, no one can turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my Lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your maidservant.To bring about this change of affairs your servant Joab has done this thing; but my Lord is wise, according to the wisdom of the angel of God, to know everything that is in the earth.”

Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying,“ Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.”And Micaiah said,“ As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”
