The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,

The person who has the Spirit can judge all things. But no human being can judge those who have the Spirit. It is written,

The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.

Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.

The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.

The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.

Evil people do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it all.

But examine all things; hold fast to what is good.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, he should acknowledge that what I write to you is the Lord’s command.

Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too.

So, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.

Then David prayed to God for the child and fasted. He would even go and spend the night lying on the ground.The elders of his house stood over him and tried to lift him from the ground, but he was unwilling, and refused to eat food with them.On the seventh day the child died. But the servants of David were afraid to inform him that the child had died, for they said,“ While the child was still alive he would not listen to us when we spoke to him. How can we tell him that the child is dead? He will do himself harm!”When David saw that his servants were whispering to one another, he realized that the child was dead. So David asked his servants,“ Is the child dead?” They replied,“ Yes, he’s dead.”So David got up from the ground, bathed, put on oil, and changed his clothes. He went to the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then, when he entered his palace, he requested that food be brought to him, and he ate.His servants said to him,“ What is this that you have done? While the child was still alive, you fasted and wept. Once the child was dead you got up and ate food!”He replied,“ While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept because I thought,‘ Perhaps the LORD will show pity and the child will live.But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Am I able to bring him back? I will go to him, but he cannot return to me!’”

So give your servant a discerning mind so he can make judicial decisions for your people and distinguish right from wrong. Otherwise no one is able to make judicial decisions for this great nation of yours.”The Lord was pleased that Solomon made this request.God said to him,“ Because you asked for the ability to make wise judicial decisions, and not for long life, or riches, or vengeance on your enemies,

The LORD’s loyal followers receive his guidance, and he reveals his covenantal demands to them.

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.

So your servant said,‘ May the word of my lord the king be my security, for my lord the king is like the angel of God when it comes to deciding between right and wrong! May the LORD your God be with you!’”

If anyone wants to do God’s will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak from my own authority.

Whoever obeys his command will not experience harm, and a wise person knows the proper time and procedure.

Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was Greek.

Now some men came down from Judea and began to teach the brothers,“ Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”When Paul and Barnabas had a major argument and debate with them, the church appointed Paul and Barnabas and some others from among them to go up to meet with the apostles and elders in Jerusalem about this point of disagreement.So they were sent on their way by the church, and as they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, they were relating at length the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy to all the brothers.When they arrived in Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all the things God had done with them.But some from the religious party of the Pharisees who had believed stood up and said,“ It is necessary to circumcise the Gentiles and to order them to observe the law of Moses.”

so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ,
