For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit.For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace.For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus.For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.

These people create divisions and are unbelievers, not having the Spirit.

Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.It is written in the Prophets: And they will all be taught by God. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to Me—

sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

A mocker seeks wisdom and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to the perceptive.

But you don’t believe because you are not My sheep.My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.

Even though He had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in Him.

How can you believe? While accepting glory from one another, you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God.

Jesus replied,“ I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”“ But how can anyone be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked Him.“ Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born?”Jesus answered,“ I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit— the Father will send Him in My name— will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.

When they heard about resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him. But others said,“ We’d like to hear from you again about this.”

As he was making his defense this way, Festus exclaimed in a loud voice,“ You’re out of your mind, Paul! Too much study is driving you mad!”But Paul replied,“ I’m not out of my mind, most excellent Festus. On the contrary, I’m speaking words of truth and good judgment.

Then also, some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers argued with him. Some said,“ What is this pseudo-intellectual trying to say?” Others replied,“ He seems to be a preacher of foreign deities”— because he was telling the good news about Jesus and the Resurrection.

Instead they had some disagreements with him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, a dead man Paul claimed to be alive.

Many of them were saying,“ He has a demon and He’s crazy! Why do you listen to Him?”
