隨從罪惡本性的人顧念罪惡本性的事，但隨從聖靈的人顧念聖靈的事。顧念罪惡本性的人結局是死亡，但顧念聖靈的人卻有生命和平安。

我們知道自己屬於上帝，全世界都在那惡者手中。我們知道上帝的兒子已經來了，並且賜給了我們悟性，使我們能認識真神。我們在真神裡面，就是在祂兒子耶穌基督裡面。祂是真神，也是永生。

祂也要把從我那裡領受的指示你們，使我得榮耀。因為父的一切都是我的，所以我才說祂要把從我那裡領受的指示你們。

你們接受的聖靈不是使你們做奴隸，仍舊害怕，而是使你們做兒子，可以稱上帝為「阿爸，父親」。聖靈親自與我們的心一同見證我們是上帝的兒女。

孩子們，你們屬於上帝，你們已經勝過了那些假先知，因為在你們裡面的聖靈比在世上運行的邪靈更有能力。他們屬於世界，所以他們談論的都是世俗的事，世人也聽從他們。

因此，如今那些在基督耶穌裡的人不被定罪，

那些不信的人是被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，以致看不見基督榮耀的福音之光。基督是上帝的本像。

天使對我說：「這些話真實可靠。賜聖靈感動眾先知的主上帝已差遣祂的天使，將那些快要發生的事指示給祂的奴僕們。」

聖經上說：「上帝所賜、住在我們心裡的聖靈深願我們完全屬於祂。」你們以為這是空談嗎？

無論是保羅、亞波羅、彼得、世界、生命、死亡、現在的事或將來的事都屬於你們，

那時，你們隨從今世的風俗，順服在空中掌權的魔鬼，就是如今在一切叛逆上帝之人心中運行的邪靈。

上帝既然連自己的兒子也不顧惜，讓祂為我們犧牲，豈不也把萬物和祂一同白白地賜給我們嗎？

當然我們也跟成熟的人談論智慧，不過並非這個世代的智慧，也不是那些在世上當權、將來要衰亡之人的智慧。

但上帝揀選了世人看為愚昧的，要使智者羞愧；上帝揀選了世上軟弱的，要使強者蒙羞；

牠和牠的天使都一同從天上被摔到地上。巨龍就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人類的。
