For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come—that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

Then He said to them,“ Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,“ Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

“ Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

“ Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.“ Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.“ And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us( for it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.I sink in deep mire, Where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, Where the floods overflow me.I am weary with my crying; My throat is dry; My eyes fail while I wait for my God.Those who hate me without a cause Are more than the hairs of my head; They are mighty who would destroy me, Being my enemies wrongfully; Though I have stolen nothing, I still must restore it.O God, You know my foolishness; And my sins are not hidden from You.Let not those who wait for You, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed because of me; Let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel.Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; Shame has covered my face.I have become a stranger to my brothers, And an alien to my mother’s children;Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.When I wept and chastened my soul with fasting, That became my reproach.I also made sackcloth my garment; I became a byword to them.Those who sit in the gate speak against me, And I am the song of the drunkards.But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord, in the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.Deliver me out of the mire, And let me not sink; Let me be delivered from those who hate me, And out of the deep waters.Let not the floodwater overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth on me.Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good; Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.And do not hide Your face from Your servant, For I am in trouble; Hear me speedily.Draw near to my soul, and redeem it; Deliver me because of my enemies.You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor; My adversaries are all before You.Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.Let their table become a snare before them, And their well-being a trap.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see; And make their loins shake continually.Pour out Your indignation upon them, And let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.Let their dwelling place be desolate; Let no one live in their tents.For they persecute the ones You have struck, And talk of the grief of those You have wounded.Add iniquity to their iniquity, And let them not come into Your righteousness.Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, And not be written with the righteous.But I am poor and sorrowful; Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bull, Which has horns and hooves.The humble shall see this and be glad; And you who seek God, your hearts shall live.For the Lord hears the poor, And does not despise His prisoners.Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.For God will save Zion And build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell there and possess it.Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it, And those who love His name shall dwell in it.

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:

For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

And He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them.They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,“ He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help.Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me!Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog.Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.You who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. Let your heart live forever!All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.For the kingdom is the LORD’s, And He rules over the nations.All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive.A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.

“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”

Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
