And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

雖有先知之明、能探諸奧妙、得諸知識、信德俱備、能以移山、若無愛、則無益、

使我無愛德、而具先知之靈賦、心通一切玄妙、一切知識、甚至有移山之信、則亦浮華無實耳。

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Suppose I have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don’t have love, I am nothing at all.

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.

The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

He told them,“ It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you.”

If I give away everything I own, and if I give over my body in order to boast, but do not have love, I receive no benefit.

Jesus answered them,“ I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,‘ Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but I do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Let anyone who has no love for the Lord be accursed. Our Lord, come!

When reading this, you will be able to understand my insight into this secret of Christ.

Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak– that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

If anyone says“ I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.

But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

For one person is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, and another the message of knowledge according to the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another performance of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

After noticing a fig tree by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it,“ Never again will there be fruit from you!” And the fig tree withered at once.

Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: A partial hardening has happened to Israel until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

And God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, gifts of healing, helps, gifts of leadership, different kinds of tongues.

that is, the mystery that has been kept hidden from ages and generations, but has now been revealed to his saints.

He replied,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.

Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Instead, keeping God’s commandments is what counts.

The apostles said to the Lord,“ Increase our faith!”So the Lord replied,“ If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry tree,‘ Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I help you unless I speak to you with a revelation or with knowledge or prophecy or teaching?It is similar for lifeless things that make a sound, like a flute or harp. Unless they make a distinction in the notes, how can what is played on the flute or harp be understood?If, for example, the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will get ready for battle?It is the same for you. If you do not speak clearly with your tongue, how will anyone know what is being said? For you will be speaking into the air.

Jesus said to them,“ Have faith in God.I tell you the truth, if someone says to this mountain,‘ Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that“ an idol in this world is nothing,” and that“ there is no God but one.”

On that day, many will say to me,‘ Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’Then I will declare to them,‘ I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’

Then he uttered this oracle:“ The oracle of Balaam son of Beor; the oracle of the man whose eyes are open;the oracle of the one who hears the words of God, and who knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees a vision from the Almighty, although falling flat on the ground with eyes open:‘ I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not close at hand. A star will march forth out of Jacob, and a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the skulls of Moab, and the heads of all the sons of Sheth.Edom will be a possession, Seir, his enemies, will also be a possession; but Israel will act valiantly.A ruler will be established from Jacob; he will destroy the remains of the city.’”Then Balaam looked on Amalek and delivered this oracle:“ Amalek was the first of the nations, but his end will be that he will perish.”Then he looked on the Kenites and uttered this oracle:“ Your dwelling place seems strong, and your nest is set on a rocky cliff.Nevertheless the Kenite will be consumed. How long will Asshur take you away captive?”Then he uttered this oracle:“ O, who will survive when God does this!Ships will come from the coast of Kittim, and will afflict Asshur, and will afflict Eber, and he will also perish forever.”

One should think about us this way– as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

So then, brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid anyone from speaking in tongues.

I have become a fool. You yourselves forced me to do it, for I should have been commended by you. For I lack nothing in comparison to those“ super- apostles,” even though I am nothing.
