If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.

雖能預言、洞悉諸奧諸智、且篤信足以移山、若無愛、則我為烏有、

雖有先知之明、能探諸奧妙、得諸知識、信德俱備、能以移山、若無愛、則無益、

使我無愛德、而具先知之靈賦、心通一切玄妙、一切知識、甚至有移山之信、則亦浮華無實耳。

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Suppose I have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don’t have love, I am nothing at all.

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

“ Because of your little faith,” he told them.“ For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Jesus answered them,“ Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you tell this mountain,‘ Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.

If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!

By reading this you are able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ.

Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

If anyone says,“ I love God,” and yet hates his brother or sister, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.And we have this command from him: The one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.

I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh.

to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.

Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, he went up to it and found nothing on it except leaves. And he said to it,“ May no fruit ever come from you again!” At once the fig tree withered.

Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy.For the person who speaks in a tongue is not speaking to people but to God, since no one understands him; he speaks mysteries in the Spirit.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages

For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

I don’t want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you will not be conceited: A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.

the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.

He answered,“ Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.

Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God’s commands is what matters.

The apostles said to the Lord,“ Increase our faith.”“ If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,” the Lord said,“ you can say to this mulberry tree,‘ Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

So now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I speak to you with a revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?Even lifeless instruments that produce sounds— whether flute or harp— if they don’t make a distinction in the notes, how will what is played on the flute or harp be recognized?In fact, if the bugle makes an unclear sound, who will prepare for battle?In the same way, unless you use your tongue for intelligible speech, how will what is spoken be known? For you will be speaking into the air.

Jesus replied to them,“ Have faith in God.Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain,‘ Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

About eating food sacrificed to idols, then, we know that“ an idol is nothing in the world,” and that“ there is no God but one.”

On that day many will say to me,‘ Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’Then I will announce to them,‘ I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’

Then he proclaimed his poem: The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eyes are opened;the oracle of one who hears the sayings of God and has knowledge from the Most High, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls into a trance with his eyes uncovered:I see him, but not now; I perceive him, but not near. A star will come from Jacob, and a scepter will arise from Israel. He will smash the forehead of Moab and strike down all the Shethites.Edom will become a possession; Seir will become a possession of its enemies, but Israel will be triumphant.One who comes from Jacob will rule; he will destroy the city’s survivors.Then Balaam saw Amalek and proclaimed his poem: Amalek was first among the nations, but his future is destruction.Next he saw the Kenites and proclaimed his poem: Your dwelling place is enduring; your nest is set in the cliffs.Kain will be destroyed when Asshur takes you captive.Once more he proclaimed his poem: Ah, who can live when God does this?Ships will come from the coast of Kittim; they will carry out raids against Asshur and Eber, but they too will come to destruction.

A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God.

So then, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

I have been a fool; you forced it on me. You ought to have commended me, since I am not in any way inferior to those“ super-apostles,” even though I am nothing.
