Now the goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled and put on the armor of faith and love, and a helmet of the hope of salvation.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him.This is how we know that we love God’s children: when we love God and obey his commands.For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden,because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.Who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

If anyone’s work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward.

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

But if anyone loves God, he is known by him.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.

I have written to you, children, because you have come to know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have come to know the one who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, God’s word remains in you, and you have conquered the evil one.

Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy.

Now we desire each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of your hope until the end,

What you have heard from the beginning is to remain in you. If what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.

endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

And the seed on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. Having no root, these believe for a while and fall away in a time of testing.As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who, when they have heard, go on their way and are choked with worries, riches, and pleasures of life, and produce no mature fruit.But the seed in the good ground— these are the ones who, having heard the word with an honest and good heart, hold on to it and by enduring, produce fruit.

Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that“ we all have knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.

He answered,“ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,” and“ your neighbor as yourself.”

But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.For by this our ancestors were approved.By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was approved as a righteous man, because God approved his gifts, and even though he is dead, he still speaks through his faith.By faith Enoch was taken away, and so he did not experience death. He was not to be found because God took him away. For before he was taken away, he was approved as one who pleased God.Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
