But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.

and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

He has not held fast to the head from whom the whole body, supported and knit together through its ligaments and sinews, grows with a growth that is from God.

But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.

For in the same way the holy women who hoped in God long ago adorned themselves by being subject to their husbands,like Sarah who obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You become her children when you do what is good and have no fear in doing so.

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord,because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church– he himself being the savior of the body.But as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands. Then, even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live,

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

A woman must learn quietly with all submissiveness.But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man. She must remain quiet.

but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature.He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death– even death on a cross!As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow– in heaven and on earth and under the earth–and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

and you have been filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

You heard me say to you,‘ I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

For he has put everything in subjection under his feet. But when it says“ everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.And when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realmsfar above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things.Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does, and will show him greater deeds than these, so that you will be amazed.For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming– and is now here– when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,and he has granted the Son authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.“ Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voiceand will come out– the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation.I can do nothing on my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the one who sent me.

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,to announce the year when the LORD will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal his splendor.They will rebuild the perpetual ruins and restore the places that were desolate; they will reestablish the ruined cities, the places that have been desolate since ancient times.

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit sparingly.The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority.The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.

Look, I made him a witness to nations, a ruler and commander of nations.”

just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.Now this is eternal life– that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.I glorified you on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

“ Look, my servant will succeed! He will be elevated, lifted high, and greatly exalted–

Then Jesus came up and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

He said to me,“ You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.”But I thought,“ I have worked in vain; I have expended my energy for absolutely nothing.” But the LORD will vindicate me; my God will reward me.So now the LORD says, the one who formed me from birth to be his servant– he did this to restore Jacob to himself, so that Israel might be gathered to him; and I will be honored in the LORD’s sight, for my God is my source of strength–he says,“ Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant, to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and restore the remnant of Israel? I will make you a light to the nations, so you can bring my deliverance to the remote regions of the earth.”
