我現在要吩咐你們，不是要稱讚你們，因為你們聚集在一起，並沒有得到益處，反而有害處。

In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.

或是君王所派賞善罰惡的官員；

難道你們沒有家可以吃喝嗎？還是你們藐視神的教會，使那些沒有的羞愧呢？我向你們可以說甚麼呢？稱讚你們嗎？在這事上我不能稱讚。

所以，如果全教會聚在一起的時候，大家都說方言，有不明白的人或未信的人進來，不是要說你們瘋了嗎？

“你不可心裡恨你的兄弟；應坦誠責備你的鄰舍，免得你因他擔當罪過。

我們不可放棄聚會，好像有些人的習慣一樣；卻要互相勸勉。你們既然知道那日子臨近，就更應該這樣。

你們怎可偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、起假誓、向巴力燒香，跟從你們素不認識的別神，然後來到這稱為我名下的殿，站在我面前，說：‘我們安全啦！’你們這樣就可以行這一切可憎的事嗎？

你要張開喉嚨呼叫，不可停止；你要提高聲音，像吹號角一樣；你要向我子民宣告他們的過犯，向雅各家陳明他們的罪惡。他們天天尋求我，樂意明白我的道路，好像行義的國民，不離棄他們神的公理；他們向我求問公義的判語，又喜歡親近神。他們說：“為甚麼我們禁食，你不看呢？為甚麼我們刻苦己身，你不理會呢？”看哪！你們在禁食的日子，仍然追求自己喜歡作的事，欺壓為你們作工的人。看哪！你們禁食，結果是吵鬧和打架，用兇惡的拳頭打人；你們不要像今天這樣的禁食，使你們的聲音可以聽聞於天上。

如果有人餓了，就應當在家裡先吃，免得你們聚集在一起的時候受到審判。其餘的事，我來的時候再作安排。

弟兄們，那麼應該怎麼辦呢？你們聚集在一起的時候，各人或有詩歌，或有教訓，或有啟示，或有方言，或有翻譯出來的話，一切都應該能造就人。

我稱讚你們，因為你們在一切事上都記念我，又持守我傳交給你們的教訓。

坦白的責備，勝過暗中的愛。

你們聚集在一起，不是吃主的晚餐，

不要再帶沒有意義的供物來了，燒獻祭物的香氣也是我厭惡的。我厭煩月朔、安息日和集會；作罪孽又守嚴肅會，是我不能容忍的。你們的月朔和制定的節期，我心裡恨惡；它們都成了我的重擔，我已承擔得不耐煩了。

執政的不是要使行善的懼怕，而是要使作惡的懼怕。你想不怕掌權的嗎？只要行善，就會得到稱讚；
