and you yourselves became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message with joy from the Holy Spirit.

Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,

It is not that we don’t have the right to support, but we did it to make ourselves an example to you so that you would imitate us.

just as I also try to please everyone in everything, not seeking my own benefit, but the benefit of many, so that they may be saved.

Each one of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.For even Christ did not please himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.
