你固然好好地感謝，無奈別人不能得建立呀。

你若因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂愁，便不再是依照愛心而行了。基督曾經替他死的人，你可別用你的食物使他失喪了！

這樣看來，和平之事、跟彼此建立的事、我們便要追求了。你可別因食物的緣故來拆毁上帝所造的人了！凡物都是潔淨的；但若有人喫東西而帶着碰倒人的事，這在那人就是惡的了。

我們有能力的人呢、應該擔代沒有能力之人的脆弱顧忌，不應該逕求自己所喜歡的。我們各人都要求鄰舍所喜歡的、使他得益處、以得建立。

弟兄們，那麼卻怎麼樣呢？你們聚攏來的時候，各人或是有「詩篇」，或是有教訓，或是有啓示，或是有捲舌頭話，或是有解明：都要為建立而作。

你們這一向還以為我們是向你們辯訴呢！不，我們乃是在基督裏、當着上帝面前說話的；而且一切都是為了建立你們的，親愛的啊。

也不要意向着荒唐的傳說和無窮的族譜；這一類的事只能激起空論，無補於上帝在信仰上所作的安排——現在我也這樣勸你。

你們也是這樣：你們既是切慕屬靈恩賜的人，就應當為了教會之建立、求得滿溢之靈恩。

論到祭偶像之物、我們曉得「我們都有知識」。但知識能自吹自大，惟獨愛能建立人。

但傳講神言的卻是對人講建立勸勉和撫慰。捲舌頭說話的建立自己，傳講神言的卻建立教會。我願你們都能捲舌頭說話，但更願你們傳講神言。因為捲舌頭說話的、除非解釋出來、使教會得建立，那傳講神言的就比他強。
