「一個人不能服侍兩位主人，因為他不是恨這位、愛那位，就是重這位、輕那位。你們不能又事奉上帝，又崇拜金錢。

以利亞走到眾人面前說：「你們三心二意要到什麼時候呢？如果耶和華是上帝，你們當跟從祂；如果巴力是上帝，你們就跟從他吧！」他們都默不作聲。

領聖餐時，我們為那福杯獻上感謝，這不表示我們有份於基督的血嗎？我們吃掰開的餅，這不表示我們有份於基督的身體嗎？

祂必說，『你們的神明在哪裡？庇護你們的磐石在哪裡？它們吃你們祭牲的脂肪，喝你們的奠酒。讓它們起來幫助你們，庇護你們吧！

但至於你們這些背棄我、忘記我的聖山、擺宴供奉幸運之神、調酒祭奠命運之神的人，

基督與魔鬼怎能相容呢？信徒與非信徒有什麼相干呢？上帝的殿與偶像怎能相提並論呢？因為我們就是永活上帝的殿，正如上帝說：「我要住在他們中間，在他們當中往來；我要作他們的上帝，他們要作我的子民。」又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。

如果有人看見你這明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的廟中吃喝，他雖然良心不安，豈不還是會放膽吃獻給偶像的祭物嗎？
