For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

Brothers and sisters, I want you to know something about our people who lived long ago. They were all led by the cloud. They all walked through the Red Sea.

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.

主張雲。庇我行。夜作火。照吾民。

分裂大海。以作行徑。令彼滔滔。壁立如凝。白雲晝導。明燈夜引。

憶昔吾祖。客居埃及。不悟靈異。不念大德。紅海之濱。肆行叛逆。我主忍之。仍予救拔。以保令名。以彰神力。呵叱紅海。厥水立竭。俾民得濟。如行沙磧。保之於仇。脫之於敵。海水復合。群敵盡溺。

若並此而不知、則吾亦不之知矣。

憑信德、眾越紅海、如踐平地；埃及人欲踵之、而溺焉。

轉海為陸。為民康莊。孰謂河廣。徒步以行。征人歸鄉。歌舞洋洋。

以導以引。安步從容。海水氾濫。群敵滅蹤。

關於聖神之靈賦、吾亦不欲兄弟之懵然無知也。

運其大手臂。子民承恩贖。斯民誰之裔。若瑟與雅谷。洪水見主懾。諸淵見主慄。行雲而施雨。中天降霹靂。飄風宣霆威。雷光耀八極。大地亦震顫。萬類皆驚惕。主行大海上。孰知其蹤跡。

【啟】但一舉手。紅海中分。【應】慈恩不匱。萬古和春。【啟】俾我義塞。魚貫而行。【應】慈恩不匱。萬古和春。【啟】海水復合。法老喪身。【應】慈恩不匱。萬古和春。

紅海為之不敢潮。約但倒流萬頃濤。大山踴躍如牡羊。小丘紛舞如群羔。借問紅海胡為不敢潮。約但胡為逡巡逃。

其受割之儀式、不過為因信成義之印證、而其信德則於未割之時、固已全具矣。因是亞伯漢乃為未受割而因信成義者之父、

蓋天主且不恤其原有之枝、更將何恤於爾？

耶穌對曰：『女子其信吾言、時已臨矣、朝拜聖父、將不在此山、亦不在耶路撒冷；

夫爾等既屬基督即為亞伯漢之裔、亦即承恩諾之嗣子也。

彷彿見一琉璃之海、與火相混；又見諸凡未被獸及厥像厥名之數所克者、凱旋而歸、齊立琉璃海畔、抱天主靈瑟、合奏其忠僕摩西之歌、及羔羊之歌曰：主天主兮全能、大且奇兮經綸。爾為君兮萬世、惟爾道兮仁且真。
