乃天主選世之愚者、以愧智者、選世之弱者、以愧強者、

神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。

所愛之兄弟、聽之哉、天主豈非選此世之貧者、俾富於信、而嗣天主所許愛己者之國乎、

此耶穌即爾工師所棄之石、已成屋隅首石、舍此別無救主、蓋天下人間、更無賜他名、我儕可賴以得救、○眾見彼得約翰、毅然而言、素識其為無學小民、皆異之、又知其曾偕耶穌、又見得愈之人偕立、則無言可駁、乃令之出會所、相議曰、此二人、將何以處之、彼顯行異跡、耶路撒冷居民悉知之、我儕亦不能言其無也、惟恐此事益播於民間、當恐喝之、俾毋再以斯名訓人、遂召二人、戒勿以耶穌之名言論教訓、彼得約翰曰、聽爾曹過於聽天主、在天主前義否、爾自審之、蓋我儕所見所聞者、不得不言、彼眾無以罰之、懼民故也、因眾見其所行之異跡、歸榮天主、乃復恐喝而釋之、

故我必待斯民以奇異、奇異又奇異、使其智慧者喪智慧、明哲者失明哲、○

蓋我儕之戰具、非屬血氣、乃賴天主、有力能破諸堅壘、凡諸計謀、諸傲慢、自高而逆天主道者、悉敗之、且以人之心志奪回、或作且擄人之心志使服基督、

蓋我將賜爾以口才智慧、使爾諸仇不能辯駁抵拒、

謂耶穌曰、彼所言者、爾聞之乎、耶穌曰、然、經載云、主藉嬰孩乳哺者之口、全備讚美、爾曹豈未讀乎、

但我有此寶藏於土器、使人知此莫大之能、非由我、乃由天主也、

高居之民、主使卑降、鞏固之邑、主使傾頹於地、墮於塵埃、足踐之、窮民之足踐之、貧者步履其上、

我必存留困苦貧乏之民、居於爾中、彼必倚賴我耶和華之名、

有人言、我書嚴厲、及至晤會時、身弱言陋、
