Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his fellow gatekeepers from his family( the Korahites) were responsible for guarding the thresholds of the tent just as their ancestors had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the dwelling of the Lord.

Shallum was the son of Kore. Kore was the son of Ebiasaph. Ebiasaph was the son of Korah. Shallum and the other Levites in his family belonged to the family line of Korah. They had the duty of guarding the entrances to the tent. From long ago, their people had the duty of guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord.

Shallum the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his kinsmen of his fathers’ house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, as their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.

Shallum was the son of Kore, a descendant of Abiasaph, from the clan of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle in the camp of the Lord.

Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his relatives from his ancestral family, the Korahites, were assigned to guard the thresholds of the tent. Their ancestors had been assigned to the LORD’s camp as guardians of the entrance.

又说：“你们当这样行：祭司和利未人凡安息日进班的，三分之一要把守各门，三分之一要在王宫，三分之一要在基址门；众百姓要在耶和华殿的院内。除了祭司和供职的利未人之外，不准别人进耶和华的殿；惟独他们可以进去，因为他们圣洁。众百姓要遵守耶和华所吩咐的。利未人要手中各拿兵器，四围护卫王；凡擅入殿宇的，必当治死。王出入的时候，你们当跟随他。”利未人和犹大众人都照着祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各带所管安息日进班出班的人来，因为祭司耶何耶大不许他们下班。祭司耶何耶大便将神殿里所藏大卫王的枪、盾牌、挡牌交给百夫长，又分派众民手中各拿兵器，在坛和殿那里，从殿右直到殿左，站在王子的四围；

哥辖的儿子是亚米拿达；亚米拿达的儿子是可拉；可拉的儿子是亚惜；亚惜的儿子是以利加拿；以利加拿的儿子是以比雅撒；以比雅撒的儿子是亚惜；

以利押的众子是尼母利、大坍、亚比兰。这大坍、亚比兰，就是从会中选召的，与可拉一党同向耶和华争闹的时候也向摩西、亚伦争闹；地便开口吞了他们，和可拉、可拉的党类一同死亡。那时火烧灭了二百五十个人；他们就作了警戒。然而可拉的众子没有死亡。

祭司耶何耶大吩咐管辖军兵的百夫长说：“将她赶出班外，凡跟随她的必用刀杀死！”因为祭司说“不可在耶和华殿里杀她”，

他们无论大小，都按着宗族掣签分守各门。掣签守东门的是示利米雅；他的儿子撒迦利亚是精明的谋士，掣签守北门。俄别以东守南门，他的儿子守库房。书聘与何萨守西门，在靠近沙利基门、通着往上去的街道上，班与班相对。每日东门有六个利未人，北门有四个，南门有四个，库房有两个，又有两个轮班替换。在西面街道上有四个，在游廊上有两个。以上是可拉子孙和米拉利子孙守门的班次。

神啊，你在古时，我们列祖的日子所行的事，我们亲耳听见了；我们的列祖也给我们述说过。

万民哪，你们都当听这话！世上一切的居民，

众百夫长就照着祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各带所管安息日进班出班的人来见祭司耶何耶大。

神啊，我的心切慕你，如鹿切慕溪水。

在你的院宇住一日，胜似在别处住千日；宁可在我神殿中看门，不愿住在恶人的帐棚里。
