Judah also did not have the rights of the oldest son. Judah didn’t have them even though he was the leader among his brothers. And a ruler came from his family line. But the rights of the oldest son belonged to Joseph.

猶太地伯利恆乎、在猶太郡中、爾非最小者、蓋將有君於爾是出、以牧我以色列民矣、

蓋摩西未嘗以祭司職諭猶大、吾主由猶大出、則祭司職之易、不彰彰明乎、

基列馬拿西咸入我版圖兮、以法蓮若我兜鍪、猶大族為我牧伯、

猶大與、兄弟必頌美爾、爾父之子、伏拜爾前、爾必扼敵之吭。猶大若稚獅、見物則斷傷之、悠然而去、吾子如牡獅、伏視眈眈、亦猶牝獅、孰敢攖之。猶大族中、代有秉鈞執政之人、待賜安者至、民咸歸之。

基列馬拿西、咸入我版圖兮、以法蓮若我兜鍪、猶大族為我牧伯兮、

乃簡猶大一族、愛斯郇山、爰建聖室、與天同高、與地同久兮、遴選大闢為僕、不使守群畜、牧牝羊、俾牧上帝之選民、即雅各家以色列族兮。

雅各有十二子、流便、西面、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、利亞所出。

遂召之至、其容赤色、雙眸炯然、丰采甚都。耶和華曰、斯人是也。速沐以膏。

時猶大支派至吉甲有基尼洗人耶孚尼子迦勒、告約書亞曰、昔耶和華諭其僕摩西、論爾我之事、爾知之矣。

一老語我曰、勿哭猶大支派之獅、大闢根株所萌、能啟七緘、而展其册、

首日、獻禮物者、猶大族長、亞米拿撻子拿順、

東方日出之所、凡從猶大之纛者、各列其營、亞米拿達子拿順為猶大牧伯、

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、掃羅為以色列王、我不永其祚、汝為懷憂、伊於何底。可盛膏於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西所、其眾子中我簡其一、立之為王。

其所知者、則預定效其子、使彼為眾子中冢子、

耶和華曰猶大族可往、我以是地付於其手。

耶和華曰、時日將至、必使仁義者興、長若枝柯、繼大闢為王、秉公行義、亨通於天下、斯時猶大家獲救、以色列族安居、王之名曰、耶和華大施仁義、以拯我躬。

爾父之福、恆久不已、勝於亙古山嶽所出之寶物、昔約瑟遠兄弟而去、此福必歸其首。

大闢治理以色列、秉公行義於民間。

耶西使七子咸過。撒母耳曰、斯皆非耶和華所簡。
