要從會眾分得的俘虜和牛、驢、羊等牲畜中抽出五十分之一交給在我聖幕司職的利未人。」摩西和以利亞撒祭司遵命而行。戰士擄獲的戰利品中有六十七萬五千隻羊，七萬二千頭牛，六萬一千頭驢，三萬二千名處女。戰士分得的戰利品有三十三萬七千五百隻羊，其中六百七十五隻獻給耶和華；三萬六千頭牛，其中七十二頭獻給耶和華；三萬零五百頭驢，其中六十一頭獻給耶和華；一萬六千名處女，其中三十二人獻給耶和華。摩西照耶和華的吩咐，把獻給耶和華的舉祭交給以利亞撒祭司。以色列會眾分得的那一半戰利品，即摩西從出征之人的戰利品中分出來給他們的，有三十三萬七千五百隻羊、三萬六千頭牛、三萬零五百頭驢、一萬六千名處女。摩西照耶和華的吩咐，從中抽出五十分之一交給在聖幕裡司職的利未人。統領軍隊的千夫長和百夫長來見摩西，說：「僕人們統計了手下出征的戰士，未失一兵一卒。現在我們把各自擄獲的臂環、鐲子、圖章戒指、耳環、項鏈等金器都帶來獻給耶和華，作為我們生命的贖價。」摩西和以利亞撒祭司收了他們所獻的各種金製物品。千夫長和百夫長獻給耶和華作舉祭的金子約二百公斤。

於是，大衛把這些器皿和他從以東、摩押、亞捫、非利士和亞瑪力各國奪來的金銀都分別出來，奉獻給耶和華。

我已竭盡所能為我上帝的殿預備了製作金器、銀器、銅器、鐵器和木器所需的金銀銅鐵及木頭，還有大量的瑪瑙、鑲嵌用的寶石、彩石、大理石及其他貴重的石頭。而且，我因為愛慕我上帝的殿，除了預備以上物品外，還把自己珍藏的金銀獻上，用來建造我上帝的殿。我獻上一百噸俄斐金、二百四十噸純銀，用來貼殿牆，供匠人製作金器銀器。今天，有誰樂意向耶和華奉獻？」結果，各族長、以色列各支派的首領、千夫長、百夫長和負責王室事務的官員都樂意奉獻，他們為上帝的殿奉獻了一百七十噸金子，三百四十噸銀子，六百二十噸銅，三千四百噸鐵。有寶石的人都把寶石交到耶和華殿的庫房，由革順人耶歇保管。因為他們誠心誠意地把東西獻給上帝，百姓歡喜不已，大衛王也非常歡喜。

看啊，我歷盡艱辛，為耶和華的殿預備了三千四百五十噸金子、三萬四千五百噸銀子和不計其數的銅和鐵。我還預備了木料和石頭。你還要多加預備。
