The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God.

The Levites had the duty of helping the members of Aaron’s family line. They helped them serve in the Lord’ s temple. They were in charge of the courtyards and the side rooms. They made all the sacred things pure and“ clean.” They also had other duties at the house of God.

For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

The work of the Levites was to assist the priests, the descendants of Aaron, as they served at the house of the Lord. They also took care of the courtyards and side rooms, helped perform the ceremonies of purification, and served in many other ways in the house of God.

“ but their duty will be to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the LORD’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,

because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;

Because their office[ was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the LORD’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple.

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

我又吩咐人洁净这屋子，然后将神殿的器皿、素祭和乳香搬回那里。

祭司和利未人的班次，耶和华殿里各样事奉的工作，耶和华殿里一切事奉用的器皿，

犹大的儿子谢拉的子孙，米示萨别的儿子毗他希雅辅助王办理百姓一切的事。

利未人中有人管理所使用的器皿，拿出拿入都按数目点算。又有人管理器具和圣所一切的器皿，以及细面、酒、油、乳香和香料。

领他们到耶和华的殿，进入伊基大利的儿子神人哈难儿子们的房间；那房间靠近官长的房间，在沙龙之子门口的守卫玛西雅的房间上面。

对他们说：“利未人哪，当听我说：现在你们要将自己分别为圣，又将耶和华—你们列祖神的殿分别为圣，从圣所中除去污秽之物。

于是，他们到里面去见希西家王，说：“我们已将耶和华的全殿和燔祭坛，以及坛的一切器皿、供饼的供桌，与供桌的一切器皿都洁净了；并且连亚哈斯王在位犯罪的时候所废弃的器皿，我们也都预备齐全，分别为圣，看哪，它们都在耶和华的祭坛前。”

靠着殿墙，围着外殿和内殿的墙，周围建造了厢房；

门的走廊这边和那边都有嵌壁式的窗户和棕树；殿的厢房和飞檐也是这样。

“你要带利未支派近前来，站在亚伦祭司面前伺候他。他们要替他，又替全会众，在会幕前执行任务，办理帐幕的事。他们要看守会幕一切的器具，为以色列人执行任务，办理帐幕的事。你要把利未人给亚伦和他的儿子；他们是从以色列人中选出来完全给他的。

耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅管辖基利提人和比利提人。大卫的众儿子都在王的左右作领袖。

其中有二万四千人管理耶和华殿的事务，有六千人作官长和审判官，

你们要警醒看守，直到你们在祭司长和利未族长，以及以色列的各族长面前，在耶路撒冷耶和华殿的库房内，把这些过了秤。”

希西家吩咐要在耶和华殿里预备仓房，他们就预备了。

在这之前，与多比雅结亲的以利亚实祭司，受派管理我们神殿中的库房，为多比雅预备了一间大屋子，就是从前收存素祭、乳香、器皿，和照例供给利未人、歌唱者、门口守卫的五谷、新酒和新油的十分之一，以及归祭司之举祭的屋子。

他对我说：“面对空地南边的房间和北边的房间，都是圣的房间；亲近耶和华的祭司当在那里吃至圣的东西，也当在那里存放至圣的东西，就是素祭、赎罪祭和赎愆祭，因此处为圣。

他们宰了逾越节的羔羊，祭司从他们手里接过血来洒出去；利未人剥皮，把燔祭拿走，再按着父家的班次分给众百姓，照摩西书上所写的献给耶和华；献牛也是这样。他们按着常例，用火烤逾越节的羔羊。至于其他的圣物，他们用盆，用锅，用釜煮了，速速地送给众百姓。然后他们为自己和祭司预备祭物，因为作祭司的亚伦子孙献燔祭和脂肪，直到晚上。所以利未人为自己和作祭司的亚伦子孙预备。

对着内院那二十肘，又对着外院的石板地，在第三层楼有楼廊对着楼廊。

他对那归耶和华为圣、教导以色列众人的利未人说：“你们将圣约柜安放在以色列王大卫儿子所罗门建造的殿里，不必再用肩扛抬。现在你们要服事耶和华—你们的神和他的百姓以色列。你们应当按着父家，照着班次，遵照以色列王大卫和他儿子所罗门所写的，预备自己。要按着你们百姓的弟兄、父家的班次，侍立在圣所；每父家的班次中要有几个利未人。要宰逾越节的羔羊，将自己分别为圣，为你们的弟兄预备，好遵守耶和华藉摩西所吩咐的话。”

厢房有三层，层叠而上，每层排列三十间。殿的墙四周有凸出的墙支撑厢房，厢房就不必以殿的墙为支柱。这围绕着殿的厢房越高越宽；厢房围着殿悬叠而上，所以越上面越宽，从下一层，到中一层，到上一层。我又见有高台围绕着殿，作为厢房的根基，高足足有一竿，就是六大肘。厢房的外墙宽五肘。殿的厢房和那边的房间中间还有空地，宽二十肘，围绕着殿。
