大衛把他的兒子所羅門召了來，囑咐他給永恆主以色列的上帝建殿的事。

大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼娇嫩，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名誉荣耀传遍万国；所以我要为殿预备材料。”于是，大卫在未死之先预备的材料甚多。

大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼脆弱，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名声荣耀传遍万国，所以我要为殿预备。”于是，大卫在未死之前预备了许多材料。

大闢曰、我子所羅門、尚在弱齡、必為耶和華建殿、矞皇顯麗、萬國播揚、我必為之備。於是大闢存日、預備之物、不可悉數、

大衛曰、我子所羅門尚幼弱、為主所將建之殿、必高大莊嚴、使聲名傳揚萬國、我當為之預備、於是大衛未死之先、廣備材物、

David said,“ My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is young. He’s never done anything like this before. The house that will be built for the Lord should be very grand and wonderful. All the nations should consider it to be famous and beautiful. I’ll get things ready for it.” So David got many things ready before he died.

For David said,“ Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David provided materials in great quantity before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is still young and inexperienced. And since the Temple to be built for the Lord must be a magnificent structure, famous and glorious throughout the world, I will begin making preparations for it now.” So David collected vast amounts of building materials before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly great and famous and glorious in all the lands. Therefore, I will make provision for it.” So David made lavish preparations for it before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous, and glorious throughout the lands. Therefore I now will make preparations for it.” So David made ample preparations before his death.

Now David said,“ Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for Jehovah must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly great and famous and glorious in all the lands. Therefore, I must make provision for it.” So David made lavish preparations for it before his death.

And David said, Solomon my son[ is] young and tender, and the house[ that is] to be builded for the LORD[ must be] exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will[ therefore] now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

David said,“ My son Solomon is just an inexperienced young man, and the temple to be built for the LORD must be especially magnificent so it will become famous and be considered splendid by all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for its construction.” So David made extensive preparations before he died.

David said,“ Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David prepared abundantly before his death.

大衛王對全體大眾說：『我兒子所羅門、上帝所選擇的人、還年青嬌嫩，而這工程卻很大；因為這殿宇不是要為着人，乃是要為着永恆主上帝而建的。

永恆主我的上帝啊，如今你使僕人接替我父親大衛作王，但我簡直是小孩，我不曉得怎樣出入。

但是有許多祭司中的人和利未人、以及父系的族長、那些曾經見過先前的殿之奠基的、老年人、如今看見這樣的殿在眼前，便大聲哭號；不過也有許多人提高了聲音、歡喜快樂地呼喊；

有人論到聖殿怎樣用美石和還願供物去妝飾，

有些無賴匪徒聚集跟從他，逞強攻擊所羅門的兒子羅波安；那時羅波安還年青，心裏膽怯，不能抵擋他們。

他們把它的妝飾之華美變成了狂傲的因由，又用它去製造可憎可厭惡的形像，因此我使他們看它為污穢之物。

逾越節期以前、耶穌知道他的鐘點——他離開這世界、往父那裏去的鐘點——已經到了。他既愛世界上屬自己的人，就愛他們到底。

我們那聖而榮美的殿、我們列祖頌讚你的所在、都給火燒了；我們所喜愛的盡都荒廢了。

我以為儘我還在這帳幕的時候，以提醒來激發你們、是正當的。因為知道我這帳幕脫卸的時候快到了，正如我們主耶穌基督所指示我的。我也要竭力盡心，使你們在我去世以後還時常追念這些事。

這殿後者之富麗堂皇必大過前者之富麗堂皇：這是萬軍之永恆主說的；在這地方我必賜下福利興隆：萬軍之永恆主發神諭說了。」』

還是白日，我們必須作那差我者的工；黑夜一到，就沒有人能作工了。

這殿必成為荒堆；凡從這裏經過的人都必驚訝嗤笑、說：「永恆主為甚麼辦這地和這殿到這樣呢？」

那一位必須增旺，我呢、必須衰減。

對他們說：『我今日一百二十歲了，再也不能照常出入了；永恆主也曾對我說：「你必不得過這約但河。」是永恆主你的上帝他要在你前面過去，他要從你面前消滅這些國的人，使你去取得他們的地；是約書亞要在你前面過去，照永恆主所說過的。永恆主必辦他們，如同從前辦他所消滅的亞摩利人兩個王西宏跟噩、以及他們的國一樣。永恆主必將他們交在你們面前，你們要照我所吩咐你們的一切命令去處置他們。你們要剛強壯膽；不要懼怕，不要因他們而驚恐，因為是永恆主你的上帝他與你同走；他必不放開你，不丟棄你。』摩西把約書亞召了來，在以色列眾人眼前對他說：『你要剛強壯膽，因為是你要領這人民進永恆主向他們列祖起誓給予他們的地，是你要使他們承受那地為業的。

「一人撒種，另一個人收割」：這話在這裏就是真的了。我差遣了你們去收割你們所沒有勞苦的，別人勞苦了，你們進來享受他們所勞苦的。』

對這座這麼高聳的殿、凡從這裏經過的人、個個都必驚訝着說：「永恆主為甚麼向這地和這殿這樣辦呢？」

我所要建造的殿必須很大；因為我們的上帝至大，超乎眾神之上。

「你們中間存活着的人有誰見過這殿從前的富麗堂皇麼？現在你們看了怎樣？豈不是看為無物一樣麼？

凡你的手見得可作的事、你總要盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間、那裏沒有工作，沒有設計，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。
