So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me word so that I may know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”

以色列人二十歲以下的，大衛都沒有登記他們的數目，因為耶和華曾經說過要增添以色列人的數目，好像天上的星那樣多。洗魯雅的兒子約押開始數點，但還沒有完成，為了這事耶和華的忿怒就臨到以色列人身上，所以以色列的人數沒有記在大衛王的年錄上。

於是耶和華降瘟疫在以色列地，從早晨直到所定的時間；從但到別是巴，眾民中死了七萬人。

人的驕傲必使他卑微；心裡謙卑的，必得尊榮。

從但到別是巴，以色列人都知道撒母耳被耶和華確立為先知。

你的牛羊加多，你的金銀增添，你所有的一切都增加了，那時，你就心高氣傲，忘記了耶和華你的神，就是把你從埃及地，從為奴之家領出來的那一位。他引導你走過那大而可畏的曠野，那裡有火蛇，有蠍子，有乾旱無水之地；他曾經為你使水從堅硬的磐石中流出來。他在曠野把你的列祖不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，是要使你受苦，要試煉你，使你終久得到福樂；恐怕你心裡說：‘這財富是我的力量，是我手的能力使我得著的。’

於是以色列眾人都出來，從但到別是巴，以及基列地的眾人，都在米斯巴耶和華面前聚集起來如同一人。

於是下了命令，通告全以色列，從別是巴直到但，叫人民來耶路撒冷守逾越節記念耶和華以色列的神，因為照著所記的定例舉行這節的人不多。

因此，我建議把以色列眾人，從但到別是巴，都聚集到你這裡來，好像海邊的沙那樣多，然後你親自率領他們上戰場。

王就對約押和跟隨他的軍官說：“你們走遍以色列各支派，從但到別是巴，數點人民，我好知道人民的數目。”約押回答王：“無論人民有多少，願耶和華你的神再增加一百倍，又願我主我王親眼看見。不過，我主我王為甚麼喜歡這事呢？”但是王的命令約押和眾軍官不敢不從。於是約押和眾軍官從王面前出去，數點以色列的人民。

所羅門在世的日子，猶大和以色列人從但到別是巴，都各在自己的葡萄樹下和無花果樹下安然居住。

又因為我所得的啟示太大，恐怕會高抬自己，所以就有一根刺加在我的身上，就是撒但的差役來攻擊我，免得我高抬自己。

希西家卻沒有照著他蒙受的恩惠報答耶和華；因為他心高氣傲，所以耶和華的忿怒臨到他，以及猶大和耶路撒冷的人身上。但希西家因為自己心高氣傲而謙卑下來，他和耶路撒冷的居民都謙卑下來，因此耶和華的忿怒，在希西家在世的日子，沒有臨到他們身上。
