You can have three years when there will not be enough food in the land. You can have three months when your enemies will sweep you away. They will catch up with you. They will destroy you with their swords. Or you can have three days when the sword of the Lord will punish you. That means there would be three days of plague in the land. My angel would strike down people in every part of Israel.’ So take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

大卫在位的日子，有连续三年的饥荒；大卫就寻求耶和华的面。耶和华说：“这是因为扫罗和扫罗家流人血的罪，因为他曾经杀死了基遍人。”

因为耶和华要走遍各处击打埃及人；他一看见门楣和两边的门柱上有血，就越过那门，不让那毁灭者进入你们的房屋来击杀你们。

使刀剑临到你们，报复背约的仇；聚集你们到城里，好使我打发瘟疫在你们中间，把你们交在仇敌的手里。我断绝你们的粮食来源（“我断绝你们的粮食来源”直译是“我要折断你们粮食的杖”）以后，十个女人要共享一个炉子给你们烤饼，她们配给定量的饼给你们；你们要吃，却吃不饱。“如果你们经过这事，还是不听从我，行事仍与我的心意相违，我就必发烈怒，与你们作对；我要按着你们的罪，再加重七倍管教你们。你们要吃自己儿子的肉，女儿的肉也要吃。

耶和华必用痨病、热病、炎症、疟疾、干旱、旱风和霉烂打击你；它们必追赶你，直到你灭亡。

那天晚上，耶和华的使者出去，在亚述军营杀了十八万五千人。早上，他们起来的时候，看哪，到处都是死尸。

以利沙告诉那妇人（她的儿子曾被以利沙救活），说：“你和你全家要动身，离开这里，住在你可以寄居的地方，因为耶和华宣布了将有饥荒，这饥荒要临到这地七年。”

我对你们说实话，当以利亚的时候，三年六个月不下雨（“不下雨”原文作“天闭塞”），遍地大起饥荒，那时以色列中有许多寡妇，

神差派一位使者到耶路撒冷去，要毁灭那城；正要施行毁灭的时候，耶和华看见了，就后悔所要降的这灾，于是对施行毁灭的天使说：“够了！住手吧！”那时，耶和华的使者正站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾场附近。大卫举目看见耶和华的使者站在天地之间，手里拿着出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大卫和众长老都穿上麻布，脸伏于地。

于是迦得来见大卫，问他说：“你要国中三年（按照《马索拉文本》，“三年”作“七年”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译；参代上21:12）的饥荒呢？或是要在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是要国中有三天的瘟疫呢？现在你要想想，决定我该用什么话回覆那差我来的。”大卫对迦得说：“我非常为难，我们情愿落在耶和华的手里，因为他有丰盛的怜悯。不要让我落在人的手里。”

耶和华必使你在仇敌面前被击败；你从一条路出去攻击他们，必在他们面前从七条路逃跑；你必成为天下万国惊骇的对象。

他不归荣耀给神，所以主的使者立刻击打他，他被虫咬，就断了气。

耶和华的刀剑哪，你要到几时才可停下来呢？请你入鞘吧！休息静止吧！

他们必吞吃你牲畜所生的和你土地所产的，直到把你消灭；必不给你留下五谷、新酒和油、幼小的牛，以及肥嫩的羊，直到使你灭亡为止。他们必把你围困在你的各城里，直到在你的全境内你所倚靠高大和坚固的城墙都被攻陷；他们必把你围困在耶和华你的神赐给你的全地的各城里。

这事以后，我看见四位天使站在地的四极，掌握着地上的四风，不使风吹在地上、海上和任何树上。我又看见另外一位天使，从日出之地上来，拿着永活神的印，向那四位得了权柄可以伤害地和海的天使，大声呼喊，说：“你们不要伤害地、海和树木，等我们在神众仆人的额上先盖上了印。”

你们惧怕的刀剑必在埃及地追上你们；你们恐惧的饥荒必在埃及紧随着你们；你们必死在那里。

至于你们剩下的人，我必使他们在仇敌之地胆战心惊；风吹落叶也会吓跑他们；他们必逃跑，好像逃避刀剑一样；虽然无人追赶，他们却跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却像面临刀剑，彼此撞跌；你们在仇敌面前，不能站立得住。

提斯比人以利亚，就是从基列的提斯比来的（按照《马索拉文本》，“从基列的提斯比来的”作“基列的寄居者”;现参照《七十士译本》翻译）先知，对亚哈说：“我指着我所事奉永活的耶和华以色列的神起誓，这几年若是没有我的命令，天必不降露，也不下雨。”

我向你们变脸，你们就败在仇敌面前；恨恶你们的要管辖你们；虽然没有人追赶，你们仍然逃跑。

耶和华必用毒疮打击你的双膝和双腿，由踵至顶，使你无法医治。

如果我使瘟疫流行那地，藉着流血的事把我的烈怒倾倒在那地上，使人和牲畜都从那地剪除；即使当中有挪亚、但以理和约伯，我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能因自己的义救自己的性命，连儿女也不能救。这是主耶和华的宣告。”主耶和华这样说：“我打发刀剑、饥荒、猛兽和瘟疫这四样可怕的刑罚临到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜从那里剪除的时候，那情况岂不更严重吗？

在旷野一切光秃的高冈上，行毁灭的已经来到了；因为耶和华的刀。从地这边直到地那边，要吞灭一切；人人都没有平安。

因为耶和华必用火和刀剑，在所有的人身上施行审判，被耶和华所杀的人必定很多。

“耶和华必用埃及人的疮、痔漏、牛皮癣、红疹打击你，这是你不能医治的。

也不必害怕黑暗中流行的瘟疫，或是在正午把人毁灭的毒病。

你们吃久藏的旧粮，要挪出旧粮，腾空给新粮。

这世代终结的时候，也是一样。那时天使要出去，把恶人从义人中分别出来。丢进火炉，在那里必要哀哭切齿。
